    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for utilizing integrity information on lifetime components of a cooling fan etc.SOLUTION: An electronic apparatus includes the cooling fan that includes a sensor which gathers lifetime information needed to predict a lifetime and monitoring and notification means of sending out the lifetime information to a signal line for other information in a superimposing manner; a filter which excludes a component of the lifetime information from the signal line; and state monitoring means of predicting the lifetime of the cooling fan based upon the lifetime information. The cooling fan includes the sensor gathering the lifetime information needed to predict the lifetime, and the monitoring and notification means of sending out the lifetime information to the signal line for other information in a superimposing manner.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inexpensively provide an optical transmission apparatus which reliably monitors a path connection route inside the apparatus by uniquely identifying an optical signal.
      SOLUTION: Strength modulation is performed to the optical signal of each channel by an optical fiber amplifier 2 which is arranged in the incoming route of the optical signal based on a specified modulation pattern such as a frequency repetition string being e.g., a rectangular wave or a sine wave, and ID information. A monitor circuit 204 extracts a strength modulation component. Only the strength modulation signal of the desired optical signal is selected by the use of a monitor side channel selection switch 209 so as to identify the modulation component by a frequency identifying circuit 210. The channel to be an object is successively changed-over by the monitor side channel selection switch 209. Consequently, a frequency oscillation source 207 and the frequency identifying circuit 210 are shared in all channels.
