    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a PTFE impregnated fiber excellent in processability in which a non-calcined PTFE resin held on a surface of filament fibers is hard to be dropped from the fiber, and to provide a method for producing the same.SOLUTION: There is provided a method for producing a polytetrafluoroethylene impregnated fiber including: impregnating filament fibers with an aqueous dispersion of a polytetrafluoroethylene resin, the aqueous dispersion containing 55 to 65 mass% of the polytetrafluoroethylene resin and 2.5 mass% or more and 10 mass% or less of a nonionic surfactant of which weight reduction is 20 mass% or less at 220°C measured by thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) on the basis of the polytetrafluoroethylene resin; and then drying the impregnated filament fibers. Further, there is provided a polytetrafluoroethylene impregnated fiber obtained by the producing method.
