    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hollow fiber membrane module which can prevent a sediment from tangling with a hollow fiber membrane to operate stably also in the use of treating wastewater containing the sediment. SOLUTION: In a membrane module, one ends of a plurality of hollow fiber membranes are each a separated free end, and the other ends are connected to a water collecting portion. A hollow fiber membrane module unit in which a plurality of the membrane modules are arranged in parallel is immersed in a water tank to which raw water flows, with the water collecting portion located on the lower side. • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent tangling with sewage residue and to prevent the sticking and accumulation of sludge by forming independent free ends as the front ends of hollow fiber membranes, linearly assembling the other ends and connecting the assembled ends to a water collection part. SOLUTION: Independent free ends are formed as the front ends 2 of hollow fiber membranes 1. The other ends are linearly fixed to form a fixed part 3, and a water collection part 5 which collects water treated by passing through the hollow fiber membranes 1 is composed of the fixed part 3 and a water collection member 4 to obtain the objective hollow fiber membrane module 6. Since the front ends of the hollow fiber membranes 1 are not supported or retrained and the hollow fiber membranes 1 in the module 6 can be freely swung even in use in high concn. activated sludge, sludge is less liable to accumulate on the surfaces of the membranes 1 owing to a stream of water, sludge is also less liable to accumulate between the membranes 1 because the membranes 1 are swung freely by the water stream and tangling with sewage residue is hardly caused.

    • PURPOSE:To contrive the concentration of sludge and the reduction of its volume as pretreatment and to attempt energy-saving in post-treatment, by subjecting filthy water, obtained by aggregation, solid-liquid separation and dewatering of the sludge, to secodary aggregation and solid-liquid separation, separating the resultant supernantant liquid with a membrane by aggregating filtration, and then disposing the formed conc. liquid and dewatered cake. CONSTITUTION:Sludge in a purifying vessel is fed from a reservoir 1 to the first aggregation step 2, where flocks are formed by a flocculant, and then treated with a screen means composed of wire materials having a wedge section in the first solid-liquid separating step 3. The separated flocks are formed into dewatered cake 4a in a dewatering step 4. Filthy water from the steps 3, 4 is purified in the second aggregating step 5 by the same method as mentioned above. Flocks are precipitated in the second solid-liquid separating step 6 and returned to the vessel 1, while a supernatant liquid is mixed with a flocculant and filtered in an aggregation-filtering step 7. The resultant washed filthy water is returned to the vessel 1, and the filtrate is separated into permeated water 9b containing a very small amount of soluble components and conc. water 9c in a membrane-separating step 9. The water 9c and the cake 4a and incinerated in an incinerating step 10, or anaerobically digested, wet-oxidized and formed into compost, or disposed.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable water purification capable of coping with a diversification of pollutant while suppressing a formation of trihalomethane by flocculating and filtering the water by adding a flocculating agent to the water to be treated to which an oxidizing agent is not added, then subjecting the water to membrane separation by using a reverse osmotic membrane having a specified salt inhibition. SOLUTION: In the water purifying device, a flocculating and filtering device 1, the first treated water tank 2, a membrane separation device 3 and the second treated water tank 4, etc., are provided, and the flocculating agent 12 in a tank 11 is supplied to the water 5 to be treated at the time of supplying the water 5 to be treated to a sand filter 7 of the flocculating and filtering device 1. Then a filtered water 13 from the sand filter 7 is supplied to a safety filter 15, and the filtered water 16 obtained here is separated to a permeated water 18 and a concentrated water 19 with the membrane separation device 3, and the permeated water 18 is supplied to the second treated water tank 4. In such a case, the reverse osmotic membrane having the salt inhibition of 5-99.7% when a common salt water having 500mg/l salt concn. is treated under a condition of 25 deg.C and 500kPa is fitted at the membrane separation device 3. In this way, various kinds of harmful pollutants are effectively removed.
