    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a removal method and device which can decompose away hydrogen sulfide dissolved in water at ordinary temperature, have a small pressure loss of the flow rate, and enable continuous operation.
      SOLUTION: In the removal method, water in which hydrogen sulfide is dissolved is brought into contact with activated carbon fibers in coexistence of oxygen-containing gas to remove the dissolved hydrogen sulfide in the water. In the removal device, a container 1 is filled with the activated carbon fiber, the water in which the hydrogen sulfide is dissolved is supplied from the bottom of the container 1, the oxygen-containing gas is supplied through an air diffusion pipe 2 installed in the bottom of the container 1, and treated water is taken out from the top of the container 1.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst for efficiently decomposing hydrogen peroxide in concentration as extremely low as 10 ppm or lower under moderate conditions around normal temperature, and at the same time to provide a method for decomposing hydrogen peroxide using the catalyst.SOLUTION: The catalyst includes a structure formed by forming a porous alumina film on the surface of a metal plate of such as a stainless steel by applying alumina in a thickness of 5 to 100 μm and depositing noble metal colloidal particles with a particle diameter of 5 nm or smaller on the porous alumina film and the shape of the catalyst is made to be a honeycomb structure or a mesh structure. Use of the catalyst makes it possible to efficiently decompose hydrogen peroxide contained in concentration as low as 10 ppm or lower around normal temperature and particularly, even if hydrogen peroxide water is passed at a high flow velocity in the catalyst, the catalyst can carry out the decomposition excellently with little decrease of decomposition rate.
