    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an all-wheel drive traction control system for a turf maintenance vehicle capable of preventing slip of tires. SOLUTION: The all-wheel drive traction control system 110 of the turf maintenance vehicle 10 includes a primary wheel for propelling the vehicle. A first motor rotates the primary wheels 34, 34'. The traction control system has a first portion for communicating with a first motor to monitor either a first motor 80 current demand or a rotational speed of the primary wheel or the first motor and generates a traction control value. A secondary wheel 28 rotated by a second motor 90 steers the vehicle in a vehicle non-slip condition. A second portion of the traction control system determines a steering angle value α of the secondary wheel. A speed threshold limit stored in the traction control system and compared to the traction control value generates a slippage occurrence message indicative of a primary wheel traction loss event.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize improvement of a speed control system for power equipment of walk-behind type operated by an operator.
      SOLUTION: A self-propelled machine of walk-behind type has a mobile structure and a handle assembly which is joined to the mobile structure. The handle assembly has a pair of handle parts. A ground traction member is rotatably joined to the mobile structure and tracks and moves the mobile structure on the ground. A power source outputs driving force. A drive system is joined to the power source and the ground traction member, by being positioned between them, and selectively transmits the driving force to the ground traction member. A speed control operation system is connected to the drive system and has a control member which is rotatable around a shaft. The shaft is arranged approximately parallel to a plane extending in a space between the pair of the handle parts in the handle assembly, and therefore the operator can operate the control member by only using the thumbs, without detaching the hands from the pair of the handle parts.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a green lawn mower of walk-behind type, including a mobile structure and a ground traction member which is rotatably connected to the mobile structure and tracks and moves the mobile structure on the ground.
      SOLUTION: In this green lawn mower, an internal-combustion engine 32 is supported by the mobile structure 40 and outputs driving force to an output shaft 48. A bed knife is supported by the mobile structure having a cutting edge and cooperates with a lawn-mowing reel 18 which is rotatably supported on the mobile structure. The lawn-mowing reel includes cutting blades 20 which cut grass by associating with the bed knife. A drive system 38 is operatively connected to the output shaft 48 and at least any one of the ground traction member and the lawn-mowing reel 18, by being positioned between them, and transmits the driving force to them. The drive system includes a centrifugal clutch member which is joined to the output shaft 48. The centrifugal clutch member does not transmit the driving force to the ground traction member, nor to the lawn-mowing reel, before the output shaft reaches a prescribed rotational speed, and therefore a complicated interlocking mechanism is not required.

      SOLUTION: In this operator's existing operation system, a grip member 64 of the system having a handle structure is biased by a spring member 66 toward a first position extending from a handle member 52. A switch device of the grip member 64 maintains a function of supplying and controlling a signal capable of operating a lawn-mowing unit. When the grip member 64 is moved to a position near the handle member 52 by an operator, a signal of existence of the operator is transmitted so as to activate the switch device, and therefore an operational instruction signal is transmitted to the lawn-mowing unit.
