    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for the analysis of a frequency, where the frequency of a received signal is analyzed with high resolution, a dynamic range is widened and the frequency can be analyzed at a high speed.
      SOLUTION: In frequency analytical method, a signal which comprises the frequency components of a difference signal between a signal to be measured and a chirp signal whose frequency is changed in accordance with time is found, it is delayed by a delay amount according to the frequency components so as to be changed into compressed intermittent waves, the intermittent waves are detected for finding a sampling function, the time in which the main lobe of a sampling function curve appears is converted from a frequency-time table, and an input frequency is decided. The main lobe is detected easily and precisely by suppressing the appearance of unwanted side lobe in the sampling function curve, by correction of the sampling function or by a combination of an up-chirp signal and a down-chirp signal.
