    • PURPOSE: To clean the surfaces of noble metal articles by adding a surfactant to water to prepare an electrolyte, immersing these noble metal articles into this electrolyte, connecting the articles to a cathode to constitute a cathode body, separately connecting an electrode body immersed in the electrolyte to the anode to constitute an anode body and passing DC current between the cathode body and the anode body. CONSTITUTION: The electrolyte 2 is put into a vessel 1 made of a synthetic resin, such as polyethylene, and a stainless steel net 3 connected to the cathode is put into nearly the central position therein. A silver spoon 4 and fork 5 having the discolored surfaces after long-term use are placed thereon. On the other hand, the stainless steel electrodes 6, 7 connected to the anode are put in the end part in the electrolyte 2. DC current is passed from a DC power source 8 at, for example, 30V, 0.22 to 1.20A to execute the electrolytic treatment for five minutes. The treated articles develop the glittering brightness, glossiness and smoothness similar to those of brand new articles.

    • PURPOSE:To provide an oscillating tank driving device of simple constitution with durability even if oscillating an oscillating tank almost at equal velocity. CONSTITUTION:An oscillating tank 1 is supported by a rotatable supporting shaft 2 oscillatingly around the axis of the supporting shaft 2. A driving means 6 formed of a normal-reverse rotatable driving motor 7 and a speed reducer 8 is provided, and a driving gear 10 is fixed to the output shaft 9 of the driving means 6. A driven gear 5 is fixed to the supporting shaft 2, and a pair of intermediate gears 11 respectively meshed with the gears 10, 5 from both sides are interposed between the driving gear 10 and the driven gear 5. Position adjusting means 12 are provided to individually adjust the positions of a pair of intermediate gears 11, and the driving gear 10 and the driven gears 5 are interlocked with each other by a pair of intermediate gears 11.

    • PURPOSE:To improve polishing efficiency by providing a driving means for oscillating a tank for storing an abrasive and a material to be polished in a reciprocating manner, around a horizontal axis, as well as a shot device for ejecting the abrasive from the upper opening of the tank into the tank. CONSTITUTION:An abrasive and a material to be polished are charged into a tank 8 when dry polishing is to be carried out, and further, the water is added therto when wet polishing is to be carried out. When a driving motor 31 is driven, a cylindrical cam 35 is rotated, and a reciprocating member 41 is reciprocated along a slide guide 40, and since a rack 45 is reciprocated, a pinion 28 engaged with the rack is reciprocally rotated, while an oscillating frame 5 is reciprocation-oscillated through a supporting axis 2a, an oscillating arm 3a, and a vibrationproofing rubber 4, and the tank 8 is reciprocation- oscillated through a spring 7. A driving motor 22 which can be freely rotated inward is rotated at high speed by a shot device 21, and the abrasive supplied to the center part of an impeller is accelerated by a vane, while the abrasive is equally ejected into the oscillating tank 8. The abrasive effectively collides with the material to be polished in the tank, and polishing efficiency is thus improved.

    • PURPOSE:To improve polishing efficiency by forming a driving means of a freely oscillating tank for storing an abrasive and a material to be polished, out of a cylindrical cam that is rotated and driven, a linear reciprocation moving member that is engaged with the cam, and of a pinion, which is engaged with a rack mounted on the moving member as well as with the moving member itself, and which follows the oscillation of the tank. CONSTITUTION:In the case of dry polishing, an abrasive and a material to be polished are put into a tank 5, and the water is added thereto when wet polishing is to be carried out. When a cylindrical cam 15 is rotated by a driving motor 11, a reciprocating member 21 is reciprocated along a slide guide 20, and since a rack 25 is reciprocated, a pinion 8 engaged therewith is reciprocally rotated, while the tank 5 is reciprocally oscillated. After the tank 5 is reversed in the oscillating direction at a large acceleration speed within a range as not to give excessive shock at the oscillating end on a cam groove 15a of the cylindrical cam 15, the tank 5 is oscillated at high speed in the vicinity of the oscillating end, while it is oscillated at low speed at the middle part, and a material in the tank 5 floats in such a way that it traces a figure '8' on the vertical surface. The oscillating range of the tank 5 is determined by changing the diameter of the pinion 8, while the oscillation speed is determined by changing the rotational speed of a driving motor 11. Good polishing efficiency is thus provided.
