    • PURPOSE:To secure a precision in controlling a vehicle interval even in a long vehicle interval area, in which a detecting precision of a vehicle interval is deteriorated. CONSTITUTION:A target vehicle interval required for stopping a vehicle is computed on the basis of a vehicle speed (step 100). It is determined whether the vehicle interval detected by means of a CCD camera is the predetermined value or more (step 102). When the vehicle interval is below the predetermined value, driving force is computed on the basis of the vehicle interval and a relative speed, which is a differential value of the vehicle interval (step 106). When the vehicle interval is the predetermined value or more, driving force is computed only on the basis of the vehicle interval while eliminating the relative speed, whose precision is deteriorated according to the deterioration in a detecting precision of the vehicle interval (step 104). Afterward, a vehicle speed is controlled according to the driving force (steps 110-300).

    • PURPOSE:To protect an ignition plug against the damage due to the application of high voltage by providing an ignition cutting circuit by which flyback voltage generated in a primary winding of the ignition coil is suppressed, at each ignition timing of a fuel supply stopping cylinder by means of fuel cutting control. CONSTITUTION:A fuel cutting control means M1 that controls fuel cutting so as to stop fuel supply to all cylinders or to a specified cylinder under a predetermined driving condition, and a primary winding L1 of an ignition coil IC by which ignition is executed at a predetermined ignition timing, are electrified for a certain period of time. After the electrification, an ignition device M2 is provided so as to apply high voltage generated in a secondary winding L2 due to the flyback voltage generated i the primary winding L1, to an ignition plug P. At each ignition timing of a fuel supply stopping cylinder by means of fuel cutting control, the flyback voltage generated in the primary winding L1 is suppressed by an ignition cutting circuit M3. When the primary winding voltage VL1 detected at the time is not less than a predetermined value, malfunction of the ignition cutting circuit M3 is judged by a malfunction judging means M4.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an easy and inexpensive way to improve brain wave detection accuracy or S/N ratio and reduce detection time of a BMI device that utilizes steady state visually evoked potential (SSVEP).SOLUTION: A BMI device of the present invention includes: a plurality of target light generators, each of which emits target light that blinks at a different frequency; a background light generator which is located at a position visible to a user and emits background light that blinks at a random frequency along with the target light generator; brain wave detection means; SSVEP detection means which detects the presence of SSVEP that is evoked when the user visually recognizes target light emitted by one of the target light generators in the presence of the background light and is amplified by stochastic resonance; and control means which controls activation of a controlled object associated with the target light that evoked the detected SSVEP.
