    • PURPOSE:To improve the shift feeling in the manual speed change mode by increasing the engagement pressure to a frictional engagement device larger than a stationary pressure for a prescribed time in up-shift, rewriting the prescribed time so that the difference between the time up to the start of inertia phase and the prescribed time becomes a prescribed value and utilizing the learned value in the next speed change. CONSTITUTION:Accompanied with the execution of speed change, the engagement pressure supplied to a frictional engagement device is increased from the stationary pressure, and after the increass of pressure is continued for a prescribed time TA, the engagement pressure is returned to the stationary pressure. The time difference between the time Ti from the speed change instruction to the start of the inertia phase and the prescribed time TA is obtained, and the prescribed time TA is renewed on the basis of the difference, and the pressure increase control in speed change is carried out only for the successively renewed prescribed time TA. The start of inertia phase in the state where increase of pressure completes and return to the stationary pressure is generated is permitted by converging the time difference to a prescribed value, and a proper pressure increase period can be set. Accordingly, the speed change responsiveness can be improved, and the increase of the speed change shock can be prevented, at the same time.

    • PURPOSE:To facilitate a movement of a shift lever without enlarging a width dimension of a center console by providing a means to select a high speed or low speed side shift mode for manual speed change, and outputting a speed change signal according to a selected shift mode. CONSTITUTION:A shift position is provided to travel in an automatic or manual speed change mode, and when a shift lever is moved in respective positions, position detecting means 44 and 45 detect a selected range and speed change stage. When a control device 31 outputs a speed change output signal according to this, a hydraulic circuit is operated, so that respective speed change stages can be attained. A selecting means 51 is provided to select a high or low speed side shift mode where respective shift positions for the manual speed change mode are allocated to speed change stages in a low gear stage group, and outputs the speed change output signal according to a selected shift mode. Thereby, since the speed change stages can be attained in the limited shift positions, the speed change stages in the manual speed change mode can be increased without increasing the number of shift positions.
