    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the natural gas storing method for liquefying the natural gas in the condition at a higher temperature and a lower pressure than the liquefying condition of the natural gas. SOLUTION: An adsorbing material 12 is housed inside of a pressure container 10 made of glass, and the outside of the pressure container 10 is provided with a polycarbonate cover 14 for holding the air between the pressure container 10 so as to even the transmission of heat. This cover 14 is covered with a coolant container 16 outside thereof. The coolant 18 such as liquid nitrogen is housed between the coolant container 16 and the cover 14. This device is also provided with a thermocouple 20 for measuring the temperature of the adsorbing material 12, and furthermore, a pressure gage 22 for measuring the inner pressure of the pressure container 10 is fitted. With this structure, gas can be liquefied in the condition at a higher temperature and a lower pressure than the liquefying condition of the methane or the natural gas.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water electrolyzing anode low in oxygen overvoltage and high in durability by forming the anode from the activated carbon and electrode material in contact with each other. SOLUTION: The Ni, Co, Ag, etc., low in oxygen overvoltage is preferably used as the electrode material. Any kind of activated carbon can be used, the fiber of activated carbon is put between meshy electrode materials, or the plates are placed on one another. Concretely, the activated-carbon fiber 1 is put between the electrode-material meshes 2 made of nickel to obtain an anode. The water decomposing voltage is lowered close to the theoretical value by using this anode. Further, the electrode material is brought into contact with the activated carbon through silicon carbide or boron carbide to improve the durability of the anode. Actually, the activated carbon coated with the film of silicon carbide or boron carbide by sputtering, etc., is brought into contact with the electrode material.

    • PURPOSE:To provide the liquid crystal optical element which enables uniform control of liquid crystal molecules, solves the problem of scattering of incident light and is variable in focal length or irradiation angle. CONSTITUTION:This liquid crystal optical element consists of a liquid crystal cell formed by holding a liquid crystal layer 3 having a uniform thickness between a lens substrate 1 and a flat plate glass substrate 2. The liquid crystal molecules are oriented in a direction parallel with the substrate surface and symmetrically in correspondence to the optical symmetry of the lens on the substrate 1 side. The liquid crystal molecules are oriented in a direction parallel with the substrate surface on the other substrate 2 side and in a direction perpendicular to the orientation direction of the liquid crystal molecules on the substrate 1 side. The thickness of the liquid crystal layer 3 is set small within a range where the liquid crystal layer 3 does not exhibit an optically rotary characteristic. The liquid crystal layer 3 exhibits a convex lens or concave lens function with the incident light polarized in a prescribed direction.
