摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aluminum oil pump of high erosion resistance and its manufacturing method capable of preventing the partial generation of erosion without applying a material of high strength as a whole. SOLUTION: In a method of manufacturing an aluminum oil pump 100 having a sliding face 10 with an oil pump gear, and including an aluminum component 1 made of an aluminum alloy, the energy beam of high density is applied to at least a part of the sliding face 10 for melting the sliding face to a depth more than a cutting depth in a cutting work mentioned below to form a molten part, the molten part is kept in a melted state at least for one second, and then solidified to form a molten solidified part, and the cutting work is performed to flat a surface of the molten solidified part, whereby a modified part is formed.

SOLUTION: Mechanical energy is applied to the surface of a metallic member 1 in a state where a feed material different in composition from the metallic member 1 is present. A fine-particle dispersion 10, where fine particles composed of the feed material are dispersed, is hereby formed in the surface of the metallic member 1. Subsequently, the fine-particle dispersion 10 is irradiated with a high density energy beam and at least a part of the fine-particle dispersion 10 is melted to form a molten zone, and then the molten zone 3 is cooled rapidly. By this procedure, a modified layer 4 can be formed.

The direct injection type internal combustion engine includes the fuel impingement portion, part of the top of the piston 21, where the fuel impinges in the form of fluid. Further, the area including the main combustion zone is composed of a member or structure 41 having low thermal conductivity and low specific heat. The thermal conductivity, is predetermined at 50 W/mK or less and the specific heat is predetermined at 1 kJ/kgK or less.
