摘要： PURPOSE: To provide an air bag device capable of reducing weight as well as production manhour and cost by restraining a weight increase and reducing the number of parts. CONSTITUTION: This device is equipped with a sack type air bag 1 having a gas inflow opening 1a, an inflator 6 for feeding gases thereto for inflation, and a cover 17 for concealing the air bag 1 in a folded state. Also, the inflator 6 has a body 7 with a gas generation section 9 housed in a pressure vessel 8, and an outer wall 13 covering the body 7 via a filter 11 and having smaller thickness than the vessel 8, with gas discharge holes 13a formed on the wall 13. Furthermore, the wall 13 has a recessed section 14 for housing the body 7 and a flange section 15 formed on the peripheral end of the section 14 in such a state as extended in the radial external direction of the inflator 6. In this case, the wall 13 is a pressed metal sheet product with the section 14 formed at the center. The air bag 1 and the cover 17 are mounted on the flange section 15 of the inflator 6.
