First semicircular holes 12, 13 piercing vertically and opened to the outside are formed at both lateral ends of the respective lateral plates 8, 9. After the upper and lower pins 25, 27 of the knuckle 5 are fittingly mounted into the semicircular holes 12, 13, second upper and lower split caps 16, 17 with semicircular holes 19, 21 formed are fitted to both lateral ends of the axle body 3 to integrate the knuckle 5.

SOLUTION: A forklift attachment is an L-shaped hook 12 attached to a pair of forks 11 adapted to move horizontally toward or away from each other. Each of the hooks 12 comprises a head 13 adapted to be supported on a fork 11, a shank 14 extending downward from the head 13, and a leg 15 extending laterally inward from the lower end of the shank 14. The head 13 in the form of a square pipe is fitted around the fork 11 so as to slide thereon in the longitudinal direction thereof. The head 13 is fixed or unfixed by means of its lock means D to or from a predetermined longitudinal position of the fork 11. The laterally inward movement of the forks 11 brings the legs 15 inserted in the bore 17 of a coiled steel tape C.

Since the spool of the switching valve 2 is made in the neutral position when the accelerator pedal 9 is not depressed, and when the vehicle is stopped, the danger that the vehicle travels can be avoided even if a forward and backward lever 1 is mistakenly operated by contact. The engine brake can be made to act by remaining clutches 3, 4 put in connection during traveling of the vehicle, and the danger that the speed of the vehicle is rapidly increased can be avoided, and safety can be secured.

Additionally, as both of the knuckles 8a, 8b are revolved by using the one motor 15, oil does not leak.

CONSTITUTION:When a brake pedal 13 is slightly stepped down, if it exists in a first region (1), it is detected by a brake pedal actuation detector 35. A control part 30 outputs a driving signal to a retarder 20. Weak braking force is obtained by the retarder 20. When the fact that stepping-down of the brake pedal 13 reaches a second region (2) is detected, braking force by a service brake is also added to the braking force of the retarder 20. When the stepping- down of the brake pedal 13 becomes large and reaches a third region (3), the control part 30 outputs the driving signal to strengthen braking force to the retarder 20, and strong braking force by the retarder 20 is obtained, and the braking force by the service brake also becomes large.
