摘要： PURPOSE:To prevent rise of temperature for a pressure resistant vessel by making the produced gas which is flowed out ultimately from a catalytic layer to be exchanged thermally with a heat exchanger for gaseous starting material at low temp. which is flowed into the first catalyst layer and enabling gas to be cooled thereby. CONSTITUTION:A catalyst is packed in the space which is sandwiched between two cylindrical catalyst supporters 7, 8 having different diameter and gas permeability to form a catalyst layer 6, and the produced gas which is flowed out ultimately from the catqlyst layer 6 is exchanged thermally with a heat exchanger 4 for gaseous starting material at low temp. which is flowed into the first catalyst layer and thereby gas is cooled and passed along the inner surface of a pressure resistant outside shell 1. The cooling liquid is supplied through a supply path 22 penetrating an above cover 2 to the bottom end of a cooling pipe 15 from the outside of reactor and the vapor of cooling liquid or the mixture of vapor and liquid is conducted out through a conduction path 23 penetrating cover 2 to the outside of reactor from the above end of the cooling pipe 15. Thus, the rise of temp. for the pressure resistant vessel can be prevented efficiently.

摘要： PURPOSE:To maximize the overall energy efficiency of a plant to produce methanol from synthetic gas obtained by the primary and secondary refining of natural gas, by selecting the above reaction conditions and the feeding rate of oxygen so as to give a synthetic gas having a specific composition. CONSTITUTION:A feed gas 11 composed mainly of natural gas and having a C/H molar ratio of 3-4 is subjected to the primary refining (2) with steam 12 under 30-50kg/cm G pressure at 750-850 deg.C at the outlet of the catalyst and a molar ratio of C atoms in steam/gas of 2.5-4.0 using a catalyst comprizing Ni supported on Al2O3. The product is subjected to the secondary refining (3) with oxygen 14 under 30-50kg/cm G pressure, at 950-1,000 deg.C at the outlet of the catalyst, and an oxygen purity of >=96% using a catalyst composed of the upper catalyst layer comprising Cr2O3 supported on Al2O3 and the lower catalyst layer comprising Ni supported on Al2O3 to obtain a synthetic gas having a (H2- CO2)/(CO+CO2)mol% of 2-2.5. The gas is made to react (6) under 30-100kg/ cm G pressure at 210-300 deg.C in the presence of a copper catalyst to obtain methanol economically.
