摘要： PURPOSE: To develop the maximum value of compression residual stress on the surface of a treated material without coarsening the surface of the treated material and prevent the irregularity and degradation of fatigue strength by specifying the specific gravity and the projecting speed of a spherical projected material colliding with the metal treated material. CONSTITUTION: A substantially spherical projected material with a specific gravity of 11-16 collides with a metal treated material at a projecting speed of 10-40m/s. For such injected material, hafnium carbide, tantalum carbide, tungsten carbide, hafnium nitride, tantalum nitride, hafnium boride, tantalum boride, tungsten boride, these combined compound, solid solution or cemented carbide or cermet mainly containing these is exampled, and cemented carbide mainly containing tungsten carbide is preferable from the point of strength and toughness. As a projecting system, a centrifugally projecting system, a compression air system, or etc., is used for shot peening.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prolong the lifetime of a blasting material having a certain specific gravity to a great extent and reduce the running cost by accelerating the blasting material to a desired speed, and allowing the material to collide against the work to be processed. SOLUTION: A speed of a blasting material for roughing the surface of a work to be processed should range between 10 and 40m/sec. For suppressing the exhausting of the material, a lower blasting speed is preferable for roughing the surface, however, a speed to some degree is required depending upon the material of the work. Therefore, a min. speed of 10m/sec will be required, while a blasting speed exceeding 40m/sec may generate a problem of shortening of the lifetime of the blasting material. A favorable specific gravity of blasting material ranges between 11 and 20-exceeding 20 offers difficulty in manufacturing the material according to the conventional technique to result in increase in the manufacturing costs. The favorable hardness of the work to be processed is under HV250.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the amount of wear of those consumable parts such as injection material and the liners and impeller blades inside the injection chamber of an injection device by accelerating the injection material of a specific gravity to a prescribed speed and removing oxidized scales adhered to the surface of a part to be treated. SOLUTION: The specific gravity of injection material is 11 to 20. When it is less than 11, a sufficient descaling effect cannot be obtained, and when it exceeds 20, it will be difficult to obtain a material with a strength suitable for injection material. The injection speed of the injection material should be desirably 10 to 40m/sec. However it is more desirable to be 15 to 35m/sec. If the injection speed is less than 10m/sec., a sufficient descaling cannot be performed, and if it exceeds 40m/sec., the surface roughness of a part to be treated will become too large and the service life of the injection material will be shortened.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To offer a shot-peening material such that the maximum of the compressive residual stress is generated on the surface of a work to be processed without requiring roughing of the surface of the work by forming the shot- peening material from an inorganic substance having a certain specific gravity in the form of spheres whose mean diameter lies below the specified value. SOLUTION: A blasting material for shot-peening is made of an inorganic substance, whose specific gravity should preferably range between 16 and 20. Below 16 offers difficulty in giving a sufficient compressive residual stress to the surface of a work to be processed, depending upon the material of the work-exceeding 20 is unlikely to provide a strength suitable for blasting material, which requires use of a material of noble metal series to result in a very high cost. The spherical shape may be otherwise substantially, for example, a columnar with edges rounded or elliptical like a rugby ball. The mean diameter should lie below 1mm.

Because the specific gravity of the shot material is 11-20, high collision energy can be obtained though the speed in peening is low, and because the grain size is as small as 30-200 micron, the maximum residual compressive stress is effectively generated on the outermost surface.

Shots after they have been recessed, are recovered by a recovery means 15 composed of a screw conveyor 16 at the lower section of the cabinet, a bucket elevator 17, and of a screw conveyor 19 so as to be reused repeatedly.

By this method, the wire drawing lubricant (oils and fats component) bonded to the surface of the product to be treated is removed by the above mentioned rubber material as if the pencil writing on the surface of paper is erased by an erasure. That is, when the rubber material and the product to be treated are slid relatively, a part of the rubber material is peeled off as refuse to adsorb the lubricant (oils and fats component) to remove the same from the product.
