    • PURPOSE:To return a developer which is supplied excessively, to a supply side and to execute satisfactory development by providing a developer control means for feeding the developer being supplied excessively by a developer carrying means to a second carrying means. CONSTITUTION:A control plate 24 is provided so as to cover the upper part of a feed screw 20 and a supply roller 18 from between a feed screw 20 and a return screw 22. In such a state, by feeding a toner (a) which is supplied excessively in the vicinity of a developing roller 10, directly to the return screw 22, the toner (a) stay in a rear part R, and the toner (a) circulates satisfactorily in a containing part 6. Since the toner (a) is carried to a front part F, it does not stay in the rear part R, and also, the toner (a) in the containing part 6 circulates satisfactorily, and it does not occur that an excessive toner (a) is supplied into a developing device 4. In such a way, the toner (a) layer being in a uniform state can be formed on a developing roller 10, and the development can be executed in a satisfactory state on a photosensitive drum 2.

    • PURPOSE:To easily detect an electrifying unevenness in a direction perpendicular to the direction in which a photosensitive body moves by providing a sensor moving means which can move a surface potential sensor in a direction perpendicular to the direction in which a recording body moves. CONSTITUTION:The sensor moving means 40 mounts the surface potential sensors 4 and 7 on a moving base 41. Said means 40 is fitted with a internal screw members 45 and 45 screwed on a spiral shaft 44, which is bridged in parallel with the axis center line of the photosensitive body through frames 42 and 43, and further fitted with engagement members 47 and 47 engaging with a guide rail 46 bridged in parallel with the spiral shaft 44. Detection parts 4a and 7a, and the photosensitive body are spaced with prescribed intervals. When a motor 51 is driven in a prescribed direction, the spiral shaft 44 rotates in a prescribed direction, and the moving base 41 moves to one end side in the axis direction of the photosensitive body. By controlling the rotating direction of the motor 51, the moving base 41 can reciplocatingly move to right and left. Thus the electrifying unevenness in the direction perpendicular to the moving direction of the photosensitive body can be easily detected.
