    • PURPOSE:To carry out image transfer well with no need of mechanical precision by installing a transfer means consisting of a conductive brush member or a conductive plate-like member. CONSTITUTION:A transfer apparatus is composed of a supporting part 15a made of, for example, a conductive metal and a brush-like transfer brush 15b obtained by bundling, in a plate shape, conductive fibers in proper density by the supporting part 15a. The transfer brush 15b is pressed to a photoconductor 1 by a spring 24 installed at the end part of the supporting part 15a while having a rotary axis 15d as a supporting point. The pressing pressure is adjusted by forcing a part of the brush supporting part 15a to hit a cam 25. When transport abnormality of a transfer object to be conveyed by a transfer object conveying means is detected, the cam 25 is rotated and the extrusion part of the cam 25 pushes % the cam touching part to separate the transfer brush 15b from the photoconductor 1. Consequently, a transfer apparatus can be obtained, while having a simple structure, producing little ozone, and being able to carry out image transfer with no need of mechanical precision.

    • PURPOSE:To excellently maintain image density even when a solid image is continuously developed by specifying the quantity of developer pea unit area of a developing roller. CONSTITUTION:The developing roller 9 whose outside circumference is brought into contact with a photosensitive drum 2 is rotatably supported at the lower end corner part of a toner container 12. Then, a blade 10 being as a developer regulating member and a toner supply roller 11 provided in the container 12 are respectively arranged by being brought into contact with the roller 9. The roller 11 supplies non-magnetic toner T being as the one-component developer housed in the container 12 to the roller 9 and scrapes one part of the toner T which is not served to developing and which is left on the roller 9 from the roller 9, besides. Then, the quantity of the developer per unit area of the roller 9 is set to be 0.3-0.8mg/cm and the ratio of peripheral speed between the roller 9 and the drum 2 is set to be 1.2-3.0.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain a distinct image even in the case of consecutive printing by controlling electric field between a non-patterning member and a photosensitive body so that the charge amount of developer may be smaller than that of normal developer electrostatic charging polarity. CONSTITUTION:By allowing the brush 2a of a non-patterning means 2 to contact with a developer image which remains at the time of transferring and an electrostatic latent image, non-patterning is electrostatically and mechanically performed. Then, a photosensitive drum 1 reaches a developing and cleaning position again but residual developer is nearly uniformly and thinly scattered, so that irregularity in exposure does not occur. Since proper developing bias is impressed on a developing roller 10, the developer newly adheres to an exposing part from the roller 10 and simultaneously the residual developer adhering to a non-image area is attracted to the roller 10 to be recovered. It is good that the electrostatic charging amount Q of the developer in a developing device and the average electrostatic charging amount QA of the developer adhering to an image carrier after the developer passes a developer image non-patterning member satisfy the relation of 0.5XQ =QA>-1.0XQ in the case that Q is positive polarity.

    • PURPOSE:To fully electrostatically charge a developer and to eliminate the irregularity of image density and the fogging of a non-image part by installing a developer thin layer forming means provided with a laminated body where a conductive layer and an elastic layer are laminated from a side opposed to a developing roller on a supporting member. CONSTITUTION:A developer thin layer forming blade 110 is obtained by attaching a chip 110b to a flat spring 110a and further attaching a sealing material 110c made of urethane foam to the spring 110a. The sealing material which is thicker than the chip 110b is used as the sealing material 110c. When the chip 110b is made to press-contact with the developing roller 109, the movement of the developer toward both ends of the roller is surely sealed. Since the sealing material 110c is arranged to cover the tip part of the blade 110, the peeling caused by carrying the developer is prevented, the life of the blade is prolonged, and stable sealing is accomplished. The chip 110b is mounted on the spring 110a on the blade 110, so that the developer layer without unevenness is easily and surely formed by the elasticity of the spring 110a.

    • PURPOSE:To improve the cleaning efficiency of a remaining developer and to reduce the generation of a density irregularity and a memory image by employing a contact transfer system and reducing a transfer remaining developer, and separating the developer remaining on an image carrier temporarily and then returning it to the image carrier. CONSTITUTION:A photosensitive drum 1 rotates as shown by an arrow A and is charged electrostatically and this electrostatically charged area is exposed to a laser beam 8 to form an electrostatic latent image. Toner T which is sent out of a developing roller 11 to form a toner image by reversal development and the image is conveyed to a transfer area. A form P, on the other hand, is sent to the transfer area and a transfer roller 6 transfers the toner image. The toner image and electrostatic latent image remain on the surface of the drum 1 after transfer and are conveyed to a developer temporary peeling means 2. The brush 2a of the peeling means 2 is applied with a bias voltage and the transfer remaining toner is temporarily attracted. This toner returns to the drum 1 in the time corresponding to the conditions of the resistance of the brush 2a, the particle size of the toner, etc., but the time up to the return is distributed widely to some extent and the toner is made unpatterned. The returned toner becomes minus when the drum 1 is charged electrostatically, and cleaned by a development cleaning device 5.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent the change of the thickness of a developer thin layer on the surface of a developing roller and the deterioration in image quality from occurring even in the case of using a device over a long period by setting the hardness of a press-contact part which is made to press-contact with the surface of the developing roller by interposing the developer thin layer between them larger than that of the roller and setting the surface roughness thereof smaller than that of the roller. CONSTITUTION:The rubber hardness of the press-contact part of a developer thin layer forming means blade 16 is set larger than the hardness of the developing roller 12 and the surface roughness thereof is set smaller than that of the developing roller. Thus, sufficient charge is added to developer with low pressure. Therefore, a developing device in which the change of the thickness of the developer thin layer on the surface of the roller 12 and the deterioration of the image quality are not caused even when it is used over a long period is accomplished. By satisfying the relation of Rb>=Lb supposing that the radius of curvature of the semicircular cross sectional part of the press-contact part is Rb and abrasion width caused by friction with the developing roller is Lb, the change of a space with the developing roller caused by the abrasion of the press-contact part is kept to the minimum. Thus, the developing device in which the change of the thickness of the developer thin layer on the surface of the developing roller and the deterioration of the image quality are not caused even when it is used over a long period is accomplished.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent drastic escape from the home position of a press-contact part and o stabilize the formation of a developer thin layer by providing spring leaf material whose one end is supported and a weight which presses the upper press-contact part of the spring leaf material toward a developing roller in a developer thin layer forming means. CONSTITUTION:Toner A supplied to the developing roller 12 is formed to be a thin layer by a blade 16 and electrostatically charged and transferred to an electrostatic latent image on the surface of a photosensitive drum 11. The blade 16 is constituted by mounting a chip 162 in a longitudinal direction at the tip part of a leaf spring 161, and supported to a device main body by a 1st blade holder 16a, a spacer 16b and a 2nd blade holder 16c. A foaming material 20 is interposed between a baffle plate 19 and the back surface of the blade 16 so as to prevent the leakage of the toner A and the vibration of the blade 16. The blade 16 is pressed by plural compression springs 22 with a rotary shaft 21 as fulcrum. Furthermore, the weight 16d for pressing the chip 162 toward the roller 12 at the press-contact position of the chip 162 with the roller 12 is attached to a surface reverse to the surface where the chip 162 is mounted.

    • PURPOSE:To perform development with excellent image density continuously by specifying the amount of a developer per unit area on a developer layer and a latent image holding member with maximum image density, and specifying the peripheral speed ratio to latent image holding member and carrying out the development. CONSTITUTION:This developing device is a contact type single-component after- image device arranged nearby a photosensitive drum 2 as the latent image holding member where a latent image used for the development is formed. Then this development is carried out in conditions satisfying 0.4 ) of the developer per unit area of the developer layer, mdev is the amount (mg/cm ) of the development per unit area of the development on the latent image holding member 2 at the time of the development with the maximum image density, and (p) is the peripheral speed ratio to the latent image holding member. Consequently, the development efficiency becomes proper and high-definition development which is free from the decrease in image density even when the developer is performed continuously.
