    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transmission system which makes a decoder recognize an erroneous transmission data and enables the decoder to perform autonomous decoding processing on its side when a high efficiency compression coded data including a variable length coding is transmitted from a coding device to a decoding device.
SOLUTION: On a recording side, a code data is recorded with an address data added thereto, and on a reproduction side, an error correction circuit 93 detects an error in a reproduced data and outputs an error block address to a zero data creation control circuit 86. A zero data added with an error flag and a data length adjusting bit are input to a switch 88 from a switch 87, and also an output of the error correction circuit 93 is delayed by a delay circuit 85 and is input to the switch 88, and when the output of the delay circuit 85 is controlled by the zero data creation control circuit 86 and is an error block, the zero data is output instead of this error block.

    • PURPOSE:To enable for each head to averagely and evenly trace the track section which are simultaneously reproduced in a multaneous simultaneous recording and reproducing system. CONSTITUTION:Heads 26a and 26b, which simultaneously perform recording of single frequency pilot signals, are supplied with signals whose frequencies are plural times changed for every track with repeated patterns. The reproduced pilot signals which are simultaneously reproduced from each head are added by an adder 35, multiplied by a reference signal in a multiplying circuit 38 and a frequency difference component is generated. By this arrangement, the difference signals corresponding to the cross talk pilot signals mixed in the output of each head are extracted by filters 39 and 40, respectively and the respective extracted signals are detected by detectors 41 and 42. The detected outputs are inputted to a differential amplifier 43, a difference is taken and is used as a tracking deviation information.

    • PURPOSE:To realize the image recording and reproducing device which can execute both compressed recording and non-compressed recording with comparatively simple circuit scale. CONSTITUTION:An A/D converter 120 quantizes video signals to be inputted. A compressing circuit 130 compresses quantized image data. Anon-compressing circuit 140 thins out the quantized image data. Header preparation circuits 150 and 160 prepare headers containing information concerning the image data to be processed in the compressing circuit 130 and the non-compressing circuit 140. Multiplexing circuits 170 and 180 multiplex the image data processed at the compressing circuit 130 and the non-compressing circuit 140 and the headers outputted from the header preparation circuits 150 and 160 to a prescribed format. A multiplexer 190 selects any one of output signals from the multiplexing circuits 170 and 180 and outputs the selected signal to an encoder circuit 200. The encoder circuit 200 executes recording and modulation. A recording head 210 records the recorded and modulated signals in a recording tape 220.
