    • PURPOSE: To restrain vibration of a rotor, by providing such an arrangement that the gap between a packing body and the outer peripheral surface of the rotor is wider along the lower half section of the rotor than the upper half section thereof.
      CONSTITUTION: A packing body 10 and a rotor are arranged such that the gap between the packing body and the outer peripheral surface of the rotor is wider along the lower half section of the rotor than along the upper half section of thereof. The length of a fin 11 projected from the inner surface of the paking body is set to be longer along the lower half section of the rotor 1 than along the upper half section of the rotor 1 so that the gap S between the rotor 1 and the fin 11 is made to be constant. The circumferential pressure distribution of steam flowing into the fin 11 is such that the pressure of steam along the upper half section of the rotor 1 is higher than that along the lower half section of the rotor 1, and therefore, the rotor 1 is always pressed down. With this arrangement, it is possible to restrain vibration of the rotor 1.

    • PURPOSE:To improve efficiency of cleaning the interior of a medium pressure turbine rotor by providing labyrinth packing on the inner peripheral wall of a nozzle box in a steam turbine with opposed flows of high and medium pressure. CONSTITUTION:A labyrinth packing 20 is provided on the inner peripheral wall of a nozzle box 13 of a steam turbine with a high pressure turbine 1 and a medium pressure turbine 2 axially opposed to each other through a medium gland part 4 in an outer casing 3. Steam leaking from an entrance part of the high pressure first stage rotor blade 7a can be prevented, by means of said packing 20, from flowing to the medium pressure turbine 2 side as cooling steam, and the temperature of the cleaning steam can be held low enough.

    • PURPOSE:To keep exhaust steam rate always constant by arranging a high pressure steam regulation valve and a low pressure steam regulation valve and by making depressurized main steam flow in from the low pressure regulation valve to a 2nd stage and downstream side of a turbine only when the turbine is operated at low loads.     • PURPOSE:To keep the tightening force of a clamping bolt from decreasing when flanges are warmed up by high-temperature steam, by providing a protective layer of a substance with a low thermal conductivity around the clamping bolt for the contact portions of the flanges. CONSTITUTION:High-temperature steam S in a casing 1 flows into a bolt hole 6 through a steam hole 7 but the steam does not come into contact with a clamping bolt 3 and goes around a protective cylinder 9 of low thermal conductivity as shown by arrows. The steam S is then conducted to the next bolt hole through a communication hole 8 and finally flows into the low-temperature part of the casing 1. Thick flanges 2a, 2b are warmed up in a short time by the steam S but the bolt 3 is prevented by the protective cylinder 9 from being heated. For that reason, the tightening force of the clamping bolt 3 for the contact faces of the flanges 2a, 2b is kept high.

    • PURPOSE:To adjust the cross section of a drain discharging part so as to improve the effect of a nozzle by moving an annular body arranged on the outer circumference part of a moving blade in the longitudinal direction in response to increasing/decreasing of a load on a steam turbine, and adjusting a gap between the annular body and a nozzle outer ring. CONSTITUTION:A nozzle outer ring 4 is fixed on a nozzle fitting part 7 inside a turbine, and connected to a nozzle inner ring which is located on the outer circumference part of a main shaft by means of a plurality of stator blades 5. A plurality of moving blades 8 which are fixed on the main shaft and projected radially, are installed behind the stator blades 5. An annular body 3 surrounding the moving blades 8 is installed behind the nozzle outer ring 4. In this case, the annular body 3 is attached, movably in the longitudinal direction, to the nozzle outer ring 4 by a connecting member 2. A large pressure on a nozzle inlet side is led into a pressure chamber 11 through a pressure duct 12 as necessary. A nozzle inlet side pressure 10 is actuated on the front face of the annular body 3, and a nozzle outlet side pressure 15 is actuated on the back surface thereof so that it is thus possible to decide a gap between the annular body 3 and the nozzle outer ring 4 under a condition in which the force thereof and the force actuated to the connecting member 2 are balanced each other.
