    • PURPOSE: To obtain an antimicrobial and deodorizing agent containing a copper gluconate as an active ingredient, representing excellent adsorption-removing capability against both N-based and S-based malodor substances, capable of suppressing propagation of bacteria, etc., and excellent also in safety and handleability. CONSTITUTION: This antimicrobial and deodorizing agent contains a copper gluconate as an active ingredient. Concentration of the copper gluconateas as an active ingredient is about 0.5 to 20wt.% in the form of the solution or dispersing agent, about 10 to 80wt.% in the form of tablet and about 10 to 50wt.% in the form of compact. The antimicrobial and deodorizing agent is used together with polyvinyl alcohol, water, ethanol and glycohol to prepare a pack or liquid antimicrobial and deodorizing agent. The agent is also used together with at least one resin among polyethylene, polypropylene and ethylene- vinyl acetate polymer to prepare a sheet agent. The antimicrobial and depdorizing agent has an excellent deodorizing effect, because the copper gluconate in the agent forms a complex ion specifically with an N compound such as ammonia or an S compound such as mercaptan. Further, the copper gluconate prevents organic substances such as proteins from decomposition.

    • PURPOSE:To inexpensively obtain the titled raw material producing a high- strength mullite sintered compact without the need for a high-temp. and high- pressure state by dropping an alkali silicate aq. soln. in the aq. soln. of the homogeneous reaction production of Al salt and alkali aluminate. CONSTITUTION:(A) Al salt such as Al(NO3)3, Al2(SO4)3, AlCl3 and aluminum acetate and (B) alkali aluminate such as sodium aluminate are allowed to react while using (C) about 2-20 weight times water for the theoretical yield of hydrated aluminum silicate to be produced as a reaction medium and regulating pH to 4.5-6.5, and the aq. soln. of a homogeneous reaction product is obtained. Then (D) the aq. soln. of 5-30wt% (expressed in terms of SiO2) concn. of alkali silicate (i.e. sodium silicate) which is regulated to the amount becoming Al2O3/ SiO2=1.0-2.0 molar ratio for the amount of Al2O3 calculated by A and B components is dropped therein at such velocity that the reaction soln. is not allowed to gel and is allowed to react with each other, and thereafter the reaction product is filtered and dried under ventilation and crushed to obtain hydrated aluminum silicate being a raw material for mullite. Thereafter mullite is formed by heat-treating at 1,000-1,200 deg.C.
