摘要： PURPOSE:To obtain a sliding material for current collection which has a good follow-up characteristics to a hard copper trolley wire and has excellent self- lubricity and arc resistance by subjecting selected carbon powder and good conductive metallic powder to pressure molding under adequate conditions and sintering the molding in a reducing atmosphere. CONSTITUTION:Carbon powder except natural graphite and artificial graphite and good conductive metallic powder are bonded at a prescribed mixing ratio by using an org. binder. The mixture is subjected to press-molding and is sintered in a reducing atm. at a high temp. in the range where the metal does not meet out from the molding. The compounding ratios and press-molding conditions of the respective raw materials are set in such a way that the sintered body has 2.1-4.0 apparent density and 100-3,000muOMEGAcm specific electric resistance. A suitable resin is impregnated into such sintered body to make the resin waterproof so as to prevent an increase in the specific electric resistance of the sintered body as far as possible. The slinding material for current collection obtd. by the above-mentioned has wear resistance and large current collecting capacity and can decrease the sliding sound with a trolley wire.

The well-conductive metal powder and carbon powder except for natural and artificial graphite for the rest are mixed. After compression molding. it is sintered in a non-oxidative atmosphere. As the well- conductive metal powder, pure copper powder, copper alloy powder, copper- based mixed powder having not-too-high conductivity (such as copper-iron, copper-chromium, copper-tin and copper-nickel) or the like can be used.
