    • PURPOSE: To prevent a pipe end from rusting due to infiltration of water, by making a lip part, while crushing a backup material, cover this backup material, so that the lip part can be brought down inward, when the sealing lip part follows up a pipe unit. CONSTITUTION: When a pipe unit is screwed into a joint main unit 1, a synthetic resin-made flexible sealing lip part 9 into contact with an internal surface of the pipe unit, by pressing in an axial direction a peripheral surface of the lip part 9 while rubbing each other with the internal surface of the pipe unit in the peripheral direction, is brought down to be deformed by following up the pipe unit. When the sealing lip part 9, following up the pipe unit, is brought down to be deformed, the sealing lip part 9, while crushing a backup material 12 arranged adjacently inside a root part of the lip part to have elasticity, covers this backup material 12 to be brought down inward. Consequently, the sealing lip part 9, in a condition that it is backed up by the backup material 12, is closely attached to the internal surface of the pipe unit, to hold water- tightness of a space between the internal surface of the pipe unit and a sleeve part 3.

    • PURPOSE: To prevent a pipe end from rusting due to infiltration of water by forming a sleeve part so that it can be deformed elastically by contracting a diameter with the point narrowed in a point end side part from a lip part. CONSTITUTION: When a pipe unit is screwed into a joint main unit 1, a synthetic resin-made flexible sealing lip part 9, brought into contact with an internal surface of the pipe unit, is brought down to be deformed by following up the pipe unit while rubbing each other a peripheral surface of the lip part 9 with the internal surface of the pipe unit in the peripheral direction. The sealing lip part 9, when brought down to be deformed by following up the pipe unit, covers a backup material 12 while crushing it, and the sealing lip part is brought down inward. Consequently, water-tightness of a space, between the internal surface of the pipe unit and a sleeve part 3, is held. When an internal diameter of the pipe unit is formed small, a point end side part including a part from this part, provided with the lip part 9, in the sleeve part 3 is deformed elastically by contracting a diameter. Consequently, press contact force of the sealing lip part 9 is suppressed, and pulling the sealing lip part 9 torn off can be prevented.
