    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance durability of a strut and to easily install/dismantle the strut by injecting non-compressive liquid such as water into a cylindrical sealed hollow member. SOLUTION: In a hollow member strut 1, a pressure stop valve 4 for injecting liquid and a cut-off valve 5 for letting air out are mounted on a sealed cylindrical hollow member 2 formed by making a core material 3 by a carbon fiber sheet and a glass fiber sheet exist at the inside and performing synthetic resin molding. If the cut-off valve 5 is used as the pressure stop valve 4, both of the valves can be combined according to an injecting method. In a force transmission mechanism in this hollow member shore strut 1, resistible shore strut axial force F in this case becomes F=wπr2 when pressure applied to the sealed hollow member 2 is determined for (w) because the axial force F is loaded by area πr2 in contact with a wale. If the hollow member 2 is not pulled and destroyed, shore strut axial force F is proportional to pressure of liquid and becomes larger in proportion to square of a radius.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain the stability against liquefaction phenomenon by connecting composite piles comprising a pair of diagonal piles at the outer periphery of an existing building and rigidly jointing them to the pile foundation of the existing building, thereby increasing the horizontal resistance of the existing building and improving the earthquake resistant performance. SOLUTION: Outer peripheral ground of an existing building comprising a pile 4, footing 3a, foundation beam 3b, column 11 or the like is excavated, a pair of diagonal piles 1, 1 are driven, and its head is connected by a first footing 6. Then, a second footing 7 made in one united body with the footing 3a of the existing building is built, a hydraulic jack 8 and support jacks 9, 9 are arranged between the footings 6, 7, the load is shifted to the diagonal piles 1, 1 by the hydraulic jack 8 and further shifted to the support jacks 9, 9, and the hydraulic jack 8 is recovered and concrete is poured between the footings 6, 7 thereby making a rigidly connected state. By doing this, a horizontal force acting to the existing building is supported by the diagonal piles 1, 1, thereby improving earthquake-resistant performance and maintaining the stability against liquefaction phenomenon.
