    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enlarge the dynamic range of imaged image signals even while miniaturizing an optical system and to improve the image quality of imaged images in an imaging apparatus using a solid-state imaging device.
SOLUTION: In an optical block 11, an optical path branching member such as a prism 111 is arranged at the rear part or in the middle of a lens block composed of one or more lenses for converging light from an object, an optical path is branched so that a light quantity is roughly equal, and branched light is respectively received by individual imaging devices 12a and 12b. Then, the output signals of the respective imaging devices 12a and 12b are added for each pixel in an addition circuit 14 and imaged image signals are generated. By receiving the light quantity of a detectable upper limit in the respective imaging devices 12a and 12b, even when the light quantity of incident light on the optical block 11 is doubled, the light quantity is correctly detected by the imaged image signals.

    • PURPOSE:To properly record an audio signal uttered by the operator when a narration is recorded by providing a video camera function section, a sound collection function section and a video tape recorder function section to the recorder and providing left and right microphones to the sound collection function section. CONSTITUTION:Left and right audio signals SL, SR sent respectively from left and right microphones 16L, 16R under the image pickup operating state of a solid-state image pickup section 21 are amplified by microphone amplifier sections 27L, 27R. The signal SL obtained by the amplifier section 27L is fed to a matrix processing section 28 and a contact 30a of a switch 30, and the signal SR obtained from the amplifier section 27R is fed to a contact 30b. The switch 30 is controlled by a control signal CN from a control terminal 34. The switch 30 is controlled to connect its moving contact 30c to a position of the contact 30b in the normal recording and the switch 30 is controlled to connect its moving contact 30c to a position of the contact 30a in the narration recording by the control signal CN. Thus, the voice uttered by the operator is properly recorded.

    • PURPOSE:To switch the recording mode to a stereophonic mode and a monaural mode by using that for two channels as an input jack for an external microphone and discriminating a DC level of the input jack. CONSTITUTION:An input jack 1J for an external microphone is used for a stereo, and has a hot side contact LC for the left channel, a hot side contact RC for the right channel, and a cold side contact CC. The contacts LC, RC are connected to DC power sources 4L, 4R for the external microphone through buffer resistors 3L, 3R. A discriminating circuit 50 discriminates whether the external microphone connected to the jack 1J is for stereophonic use or for monaural use from levels of DC voltages VL, VR of the contacts LC, RC of the jack 1J, and outputs a signal Sm. The signal Sm is supplied to switch circuits 22, 23 as its control signal. In such a way, stereophonic recording and monaural recording are switched.

    • PURPOSE:To eliminate wind noise automatically by providing a low pass filter and an automatic level control circuit and controlling the level of a low frequency component from the low pass filter in response to the level of the wind noise automatically. CONSTITUTION:An output of a microphone 1 is fed respectively to a high pass filter 8 and a low pass filter 9 via a preamplifier circuit 2. The high pass filter 8 passes a frequency signal over 150Hz and the low pass filter 9 passes the low frequency signal including the wind noise component below 150Hz. The output signal of the high pass filter 8 is fed to one input terminal of the adder circuit 11 and the output signal of the low pass filter 9 is fed to the other input terminal of the adder circuit 11 via an automatic level control circuit 10. In this case, the automatic level control circuit 10 consists of a variable gain amplifier circuit 10a and a level detection circuit 10b and the level is not attenuated when no wind noise exists and the attenuation is increased as the level of the wind noise is increased. An audio signal output terminal 7 is led from the output side of the adder circuit 11.
