SOLUTION: The optical recording medium has a structure wherein a reflection film 8, a protective layer (an adhesive layer) 9, a reflection film 10, a dielectric film 11, a recording film 12, a dielectric film 13 and a substrate 14 are successively laminated on a principal surface of a substrate 7. The barcode-shaped medium ID is recorded by irradiating the recording film 12 with a pulse-shaped laser beam from the substrate 14 side while defocusing the recording film.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk which suppresses the variation and fluctuation of reflectivity for every optical disk, can deal with a higher NA of an objective lens and has a light transparent layer having a small birefringence, good transparency and a uniform film thickness and a method of manufacturing the same. SOLUTION: An information section 1c is constituted successively disposing a reflection layer 11, a first dielectric layer 12 consisting of ZnS-SiO2 , a recording layer 13 consisting of a phase transition recording material and a second dielectric layer 14 consisting of ZnS-SiO2 on a replica substrate 1a and further disposing an antireflection layer 15 consisting of Si3 N4 or SiO2 on the second dielectric layer 14. The light transparent layer is constituted by disposing a light transparent sheet across an adhesive layer so as to cover the information signal layer 1c. When the antireflection layer 15 is not provided, the substrate is provided with an antireflection resin layer consisting of a UV curing resin so as to cover the information signal section 1c.
