    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable easy and safe adaptation to a change of a configuration of a safety control device connected in a network shape.
      SOLUTION: This safety control device includes: at least one input unit for connecting a sensor; at least one output unit for connecting a drive device; at lease one communication interface for connecting the other safety control devices 10a to 10d in order to exchange control-related information; and a control unit configured to implement a control program for generating a control signal dependent on an input signal from the input unit and/or dependent on control-related information to the output unit on the basis of a predetermined logic rule. When it is confirmed that an expected safety control device is not connected, the control program uses predefined information in place of control-related information which should be transmitted from the expected safety control device.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To design a linking unit which enables linking a security sensor and a standard sensor freely by a standard and cost-effective plug connection.
      SOLUTION: The linking unit connects devices such as a sensor, an actuator, a noncontact protective device (electrically sensitive protective equiment-ESPE), a light barrier or a controller to a bus system. The linking unit comprises at least one connecting unit on a bus side to connect it to the bus system and at least one connecting unit on a device side to connect the device to the linking unit. The connecting unit on a device side comprises n-contact point elements (n>1), each of which has one of a group of m-predefined functional properties (m>1). At least a certain number of the contact point elements are designed as variable contact point elements to which one of the predefined functional properties is allotted variably.
