      CONSTITUTION: Gathered raw tangle is washed with clean saline water, etc., thoroughly drained, cut to 3W10cm square, and frozen quickly at -40W-196°C. The frozen tangle is crushed with a pin-mill pulverizer, etc. at a pulverization temperature of -50W-100°C to obtain the objective frozen raw tangle powder having particle diameter of 0.3W0.01mmϕ.

LiOH used in an absorption system refrigerator or the like, by adding Na2SO3 to an aqueous LiBr soln. contg. LiOH. CONSTITUTION:An LiBr composition which inhibits the corrosion of metallic materials is obtd. by adding 0.001-0.05wt% Na2SO3 to an aqueous LiBr soln. contg. LiOH. The aqueous LiBr soln. contg. LiOH is prepared by adding LiOH to a 53-55wt% aqueous LiBr soln. which is in common use and by adjusting the LiOH concn. to 0.01-0.30wt%. Na2SO3 has solubility in the aqueous LiBr soln. contg. LiOH at ordinary temp.-about 40 deg.C, so this composition is easy to handle when an absorbing soln. is circulated as a commodity. The metallic materials whose corrosion is to be inhibited include mild steel, copper and brass.
