    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture a shield forming material having diatom earth filled in Akita cedar timbers from forest thinning, which solves a problem that wall papers and plastered walls having been much used as conventional interior building materials mold due to a lack of absorption/release of moisture and raise health problems because not having functions of adsorbing, absorbing decomposing organic compounds such as formaldehyde and a problem that current plastered walls and coating of diatom earth essentially require use of paste materials to be accompanied by the cost of plastering technology, bring about falling and cracks not covered by technology, require a longer construction period because of requisite process, and raise issues of harmfulness of adhesives and paste materials and reduction in effect of diatom earth.SOLUTION: By utilizing features of permeability and hygroscopic properties intrinsic to porous timbers from thinning of Akita cedar forest, an environmental function of an integrated shield forming material is provided where internal spaces of structures of the timbers are filled with diatom earth having minute pores having higher permeability and moisture absorbing/releasing properties.
