    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate maintenance in a separative conveying mechanism provided at a paper sheet handling device and to reduce the number of components of the paper sheet handling device to attain miniaturization and cost reduction.
      SOLUTION: The separative conveying mechanism 15 conveys paper sheets 23 stacked in the thickness direction and stored in storage parts 5, 7, sheet by sheet inside and outside the storage parts 5, 7 by the rotation of a pair of rollers 45, 47 arranged in the stacked direction of the paper sheets 23 and brought into pressure contact with each other. The pair of rollers 45, 47 is rotatable independently of each other by individual drive sources. The rotating direction of the pair of rollers 45, 47 can thereby be selected independently of each other, and the driving torque of the pair of rollers 45, 47 can be set independently of each other.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely prevent paper sheets from being interfered with each other and from remaining when paper sheets stored in a storage part in a casing are discharged to the outside in a state of stacked sheet bundle.
      SOLUTION: A paper sheet handling apparatus comprises a discharge pool space 17 so disposed as to face the outlet 3b of the casing 3 and capable of storing paper sheets in the state of paper bundle 15A, a temporary storage space 27 separated from the discharge pool space 17 through a partition part 19 disposed at one end of the paper bundle 15A in the stacking direction, a conveying part 9 for conveying the paper sheets 15 one by one from the storage part to the temporary storage space 27, a pusher member 31 movable between the temporary storage space 27 and the discharge pool space 17, a first conveying means 21 mounted on the pusher member 31, and a second conveying means 25 so installed as to face the first conveying means. Two conveying means 21, 25 are so driven as to move the paper bundle 15A toward the outlet 3b while two conveying means 21, 25 hold the paper bundle 15A.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To positively prevent a second paper sheet onward from being taken out of a storage part and to return the second paper sheet onward into the original storage position after an uppermost paper sheet is delivered in a paper sheet handling device provided with a storage part for storing stacked bills.
      SOLUTION: The paper sheet handling device comprises a take-out preventive roller 33 abutting on the top of the paper sheets 25 stacked in the storage part 5, and rotatable in both a delivery direction (a B1 direction) of the paper sheets 25 from the storage part 5 and a reverse direction (a B2 direction) to the delivery direction. When the paper sheet 25 disposed at the uppermost part of the storage part 5 is conveyed outward, the take-out preventive roller 33 is rotated in the B1 direction to deliver the uppermost paper sheet 25, and when the rear end of the uppermost paper sheet 25 is spaced from the take-out preventive roller 33, the rotation of the take-out preventive roller 33 is reversed.
