In addition, the method of manufacturing the laminate includes as follows. A primer composition including: a thermoplastic (meth)acrylic polymer having an alkoxysilyl group and an ultraviolet absorption group; a silicon dioxide fine particle; and a hydrolysis prevention agent preventing hydrolysis condensation of an alkoxysilyl group is applied to a surface of the base material, subsequently, on it a hardtop composition including: a cohydrolysis condensate of an organosilicon compound having an organooxy group and a silicon dioxide fine particle; and a curing catalyst making the alkoxysilyl group of the primer composition react with the organooxy group and making the cohydrolysis condensate cure is applied to be laminated, subsequently, is heated so that the hardtop composition is bridged/cured, and thereby the primer layer having thermoplasticity and the top layer having thermosetting are formed.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a primer composition that forms a protective coating free from defects such as cracking, peeling, and yellowing over a long period of time with excellent weather resistance, and has good repeatability of these performances, and to provide a coated article using the same. SOLUTION: The primer composition includes a vinyl copolymer (A) with an organic ultraviolet-absorbing group and a hydroxyalkyl group bonded to the side chain thereof, and an aliphatic polyisocyanate and/or a precursor thereof (B), the molar ratio of an initial and/or produced isocyanate group of (B) to a hydroxy group of (A) being 0.01-0.7. The primer composition significantly improves light fastness and prevents the loss of an ultraviolet-absorbing agent with time. The cured coating formed by carrying out a urethane crosslinking reaction becomes a binder with excellent weather resistance, thus providing an ultraviolet-absorbing protective coating with excellent water resistance, solvent resistance, and light fastness. When the primer composition is coated and cured on an article with poor weather resistance, the composition inhibits discoloration and deterioration of the article and imparts good weather resistance.
