For searching of the LSI1, the word number N1 of a block 1 BL1 is referred to for decision of difference between the N1 and the word number M. If N1 =M is satisfied, the designated word exists in the block 2. Thus the inside of the block 2 is searched to read the data inside.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain a translating device suitable for many uses including simultaneous interpretation by enabling to input a language to be translated by means of voice or characters and enabling to output the translated language in the form of voice or print. CONSTITUTION:A case in which a voice inputting device 33 is selected as an inputting device and a voice outputting device 53 is selected as an outputting device by operating an operating section 10 is presented as an assumption. Inputted language is supplied to a recognizing device 34V through a microphone not shown in the figure and compared with a memory (one of 371-37N) that stores voice data and recognized by voice. These recognized data are processed by a word unit analyzing circuit 41, a sentence structure analyzing circuit 42 etc., and converted to another language by a sentence structure composing circuit 46 and a word conversion circuit 47. As a voice inputting device 53 is selected as an outputting device as mentioned above, the converted language is outputted as voice signals from a speaker not shown in the figure.
