    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of reinforcing holed wood having a high reinforcing effect and capable of easily and surely performing the reinforcement.
      SOLUTION: In this method of reinforcing a through-hole by press-fitting reinforcement plates 4a, 4b to the periphery of the through-hole 3 formed in holed wood 2 with an adhesive agent 6 under a predetermined pressure, the wood 2 and the reinforcement plates 4a, 4b are held by a pair of holding plates 10a, 10b in which bolt holes 13a, 13b are formed, respectively. A tightening bolt 15 is inserted into the bolt holes 13a, 13b. A tightening nut 16 is screwed to one end of the tightening bolt 15, and tightened with a predetermined tightening torque to introduce a predetermined axial force inward therein. The predetermined pressure is produced by transmitting the axial force to the reinforcement plates 4a, 4b through the holding plates 10a, 10b.

When a bending stress or a shearing stress is applied to the horizontal member 1, the stresses are efficiently transmitted via the adhesive 6 to the reinforcing bar 5 which positively bears the stresses. Thus without applying a tension to the reinforcing bar 5 by means of a jack or the like, the strength of the horizontal member 1 can be sufficiently enhanced.
