    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink cartridge capable of sealing an ink supply opening surely when it is not loaded to a recorder without lowering the sealing power of a tubular packing, and capable of opening a valve surely by an ink supply needle having a tapered forward end when it is loaded to the recorder.
      SOLUTION: The ink cartridge comprises an ink chamber for containing ink, an ink supply opening communicating with the ink chamber and inserting/drawing an ink supply needle, a packing placed in the ink supply opening and having a through hole being fitted to the ink supply needle, and a valve element contained in the ink supply opening and coming into resilient contact with the ink chamber side surface of the packing thus sealing the through hole to be opened/closed freely wherein the packing is provided with an annular protrusion protruding to the ink chamber side and abutting against the valve element.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid injection head which realizes elongation of nozzle arrays by reducing the size in a main scanning direction of a device body as much as possible.
      SOLUTION: A liquid injection unit is constituted including a channel unit 16 which consists of a nozzle plate 17, a channel formation plate 18 and a sealing plate 19. This unit is mounted to a head holder 33. At least two first liquid injection units U1 are arranged in a nozzle array 21 direction. A second liquid injection unit U2 having a shorter length in the nozzle array 21 direction than that of the unit U1 is arranged at a discontinued part of the nozzle arrays 21 between the units U1. The unit U2 is arranged while displaced in the main scanning direction from the arrangement of the units U1. A unit 39 is formed by the units U1 and U2 to constitute a long nozzle group 38 for jetting the same kind of liquid from each nozzle array 21. The units 39 are combined to reduce the size in the main scanning direction of the liquid injection head as much as possible.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inkjet recording apparatus capable of preventing the data destruction in a semiconductor storage means regardless of an improper attachment to or removal from of an ink cartridge, and an ink cartridge for the inkjet recording apparatus.
      SOLUTION: In the inkjet recording apparatus, an ink supply needle 6 is located near one side in a direction perpendicular to the reciprocated directions of a carriage 3. A circuit board 31 is mounted on a wall of an ink cartridge 40 in the vicinity of the side on which an ink supply port 44 is formed and a plurality of contacts for connecting to an external control means are formed on the exposed surface of the circuit board 31. Therefore, even if a clearance is present between the carriage 3 and the ink cartridge 40, the movement path is restricted by the ink supply needle 6 and the ink supply port 44, and the contacts are made to the external control means in a prescribed order. As a result, the data loss due to the application of signals in a wrong, careless order in the semiconductor storage means is prevented.
