    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inkjet recording apparatus capable of preventing the data destruction in a semiconductor storage means regardless of an improper attachment to or removal from of an ink cartridge, and an ink cartridge for the inkjet recording apparatus.
      SOLUTION: In the inkjet recording apparatus, an ink supply needle 6 is located near one side in a direction perpendicular to the reciprocated directions of a carriage 3. A circuit board 31 is mounted on a wall of an ink cartridge 40 in the vicinity of the side on which an ink supply port 44 is formed and a plurality of contacts for connecting to an external control means are formed on the exposed surface of the circuit board 31. Therefore, even if a clearance is present between the carriage 3 and the ink cartridge 40, the movement path is restricted by the ink supply needle 6 and the ink supply port 44, and the contacts are made to the external control means in a prescribed order. As a result, the data loss due to the application of signals in a wrong, careless order in the semiconductor storage means is prevented.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attach a conductor storage means to a precise position of a container so as to prevent data breakage.
      SOLUTION: In ink cartridges 40 and 50 for supplying inks to record heads to which the inks are supplied via ink supply needles, there are provided a container 41 forming an ink chamber, ink supply openings 44 and 54 which are formed on one surface of the containers 41 and through which the ink supply needles penetrate, and a circuit board 31 which is attached to the container 41 and on which a plurality of contact points connecting with an external control means are formed. On the circuit board, recessed portions or through holes are formed. On the surface of the container to which the circuit board 31 is attached, protrusions 45a, 45b, 55a, 55b which are engaged with the recessed portions or the through holes of the circuit board and subjected to thermal caulking after engagement with the circuit board are formed. The circuit board is fixed thereto by thermal caulking.
