    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a low-cost light source with a high lighting property for practical application without causing problems of environmental pollution at disposal.
      SOLUTION: Ingredients of discharge gas 3 sealed in the ultraviolet light source 1 are nitrogen gas (N
      2 ), argon (Ar), helium or the like with a mixture ratio of N
      2 to Ar of 0.1:99.9 to 30:70, and an internal pressure of 100 to 1,000 Pa. The ultraviolet light source 1 is inputted into an object 21 for reaction in a chemical reaction accelerating device 10. Microwaves outputted from a magnetron oscillator 11 are irradiated on the object for reaction 21 and as the ultraviolet light source 1. The ultraviolet light source 1, upon receiving the irradiation, discharges ultraviolet rays as they are positioned in the object 21 to irradiate them on the object 21. By the irradiation of the ultraviolet rays and the microwaves, the chemical reaction of the object 21 for reaction is accelerated.
