    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plasma display panel capable of smooth exhaustion and preventing the lowering of discharge efficiency.
      SOLUTION: The plasma display device comprises an upper substrate; a plurality of paired sustaining electrodes formed on the lower face of the upper substrate; an upper dielectric layer in which the sustaining electrodes are embedded; a lower substrate arranged in opposition to the upper substrate; address electrodes formed on the upper face of the lower substrate so as to cross the sustaining electrodes; a lower dielectric layer in which the address electrodes are embedded; main barrier ribs formed on the upper face of the lower dielectric layer, demarcating discharge cells arranged so as to correspond to the sustaining electrodes and the address electrodes; dummy barrier ribs demarcating dummy cells by being formed on the outside of the main barrier ribs arranged at an outermost part with the height of an end located at the outermost part higher than those of the main barrier ribs; and phosphor layers arranged in the discharge cells and dummy cells, respectively.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a misdischarging of electric discharge cells by suppressing interaction between an address electrode and a display electrode, and enable a precise drive of a PDP while increasing Xe content of an electric discharge gas.
      SOLUTION: This PDP is composed of a first substrate and a second substrate arranged opposed having a prescribed spacing, an address electrode formed on the first substrate, a barrier rib which is arranged at a space between the first substrate and the second substrate and which partitions the electric discharge cells, a fluorescent layer positioned in the respective electric discharge cell, and an electric discharge maintenance electrode formed in the direction perpendicular to the address electrode. When a gap between the electric discharge maintenance electrodes positioned at the respective electric discharge cells is taken as the main electric discharge gap and a gap between neighboring both electric discharge cells is taken as a non-electric discharge gap, the width of the address electrode corresponding to the main electric discharge gap is formed smaller than that of the address electrode corresponding to the non-electric discharge gap.
