    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the disconnection and short-circuiting of electrode terminals by introducing a surface hydrophobic modifying layer into a sealing member by which not only the migration phenomenon of silver electrodes is minimized without transmission and absorption of external moisture into the device but also, the shrinkage and the expansion change of the electrode terminals are minimized in spite of environmental variation of the outside since stability is retained even in the state of a high temperature. SOLUTION: A plasma display device includes: a plasma display panel having electrodes between both substrates facing each other; a chassis base; a printed circuit board assembly, a flexible printed wiring; an anisotropic conductive film disposed between terminals connected to the electrodes and a terminal formed on the flexible printed wiring; and a sealing member for sealing the terminals of the electrodes and the terminal of the flexible printed wiring, and the sealing member includes a surface hydrophobic modifying layer 233a and an insulation layer 234b.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plasma display panel which is not only low in external light reflection luminance but excellent in electric conduction, and contains white/black-integrated bus electrodes having a simple manufacturing process.
      SOLUTION: The plasma display panel includes a first substrate and a second substrate both arranged oppositely to each other, a plurality of address electrodes arranged on the first substrate, and a plurality of display electrodes containing the bus electrodes arranged in the direction crossing the address electrodes on the second substrate. The bus electrode contains a mixture of a color developing element selected from the group consisting of a transition metal, a rare earth metal and a combination thereof, and an electric conductive metal. Accordingly, the bus electrode has low reflective luminance for external light as well as excellent electric conductivity and a simple manufacturing process.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition for electrode formation, and a plasma display panel (PDP) manufactured using this. SOLUTION: The composition for electrode formation contains metallic powder, frit, and a coloring agent in mass ratio of 52-62: 5-7: 3-9, and a PDP utilizing this composition for electrode formation includes a first substrate and a second substrate arranged mutually opposed to, barrier ribs for demarcating a large number of discharge cells in a space between the first substrate and the second substrate, a phosphor layer formed in each discharge cell, an address electrode which extends in a first direction corresponding to each discharge cell on the first substrate, and a first electrode and a second electrode which extend in a second direction crossing the first direction corresponding to each discharge cell. The first electrode and the second electrode are made of a combination of a transparent electrode and a bus electrode, and the bus electrode contains a colored glass layer which is formed by passing on the transparent electrode and colored on the second substrate, a metallic layer with electric conductivity which is formed on the colored glass layer, and an insulated dummy layer which is formed along the periphery of the metallic layer.
