SOLUTION: The surface emitting laser includes a heat sink (30), a laser chip 31 that is disposed on one surface of the heat sink and radiates light of predetermined wavelength in a direction at a predetermined angle to one surface of the heat sink, an external mirror (36) that is spaced out and positioned at a predetermined distance from the laser chip in a radiation direction of the light, allows a part of the light generated in the laser chip to be permeated to output it outside and allows a part of the remaining light to be reflected to the laser chip, a pump laser (33) that is disposed on the side of the laser chip on one surface of the heat sink and radiates the light for light pumping to oscillate the laser chip in parallel with one surface of the heat sink, and a reflection mirror (35) that is disposed on the side of the laser chip so as to face the pump laser by sandwiching the laser chip on one surface of the heat sink and reflects the light for light pumping radiated from the pump laser to the laser chip.
