摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aluminum alloy satisfactorily having characteristics such as abrasion resistance, high-temperature strength, and heat conductivity (a heat radiating property), which is preferably used for materials particularly for pistons of engines, and provide a manufacturing method therefor. SOLUTION: The aluminum alloy includes SiC particles and is made by means of molding rapidly solidified aluminum alloy powders, wherein the SiC particle is a β-type of the cubic system with a round form, has a content of 1-5%, and has a mean particle diameter of 2-10 μm, and the aluminum alloy comprises 2-6% Fe, 14% or more but less than 20% Si, 0.2-2% Mg, 0.5-3% Cu, 0.01-0.05% Ti, and the balance with unavoidable impurities. The method for manufacturing the aluminum alloy includes mixing the rapidly solidified powders having the above composition, with a β-type SiC particles, degassing the mixture powder, and solidifying it by adding plastic working.

SOLUTION: This composite is composed of an aluminum alloy powder compact having a composition consisting of 2-10% Si, =2 elements among Ni, Cu, Fe, Zn, Mn, Ti, and Cr, and the balance Al with inevitable impurities. Further, either or both of SiC grains and AlN grains, having 1-15μm average grain size, are dispersed by 3-15% in total in the matrix of the compact, and thermal conductivity is regulated to >=180w/Mk.

In this case, Si serves to improve wear resistance, Cu and Mg to improve wear resistance in coexistence with each other and improve high temperature strength through solid reinforcement. Ni and Fe serve to improve high temperature reinforcement, and reduce a linear expansion factor. MoS2 serves to improve wear resistance.

摘要： PURPOSE:To obtain a cylinder material having a uniform structure and high wear resistance by subjecting high Si Al-Si series alloy powder with a specified compsn. obtd. by a rapid solidification process to vacuum degassing under specified conditions and thereafter subjecting the powder to hot extruding. CONSTITUTION:Alloy powder contg., by weight, 18 to 23% Si, 0.5 to 6% Cu, 0.5 to 5% Mg and the balance Al and obtd. by a rapid solidification process is housed in a container and is subjected to vacuum degassing treatment at 500 to 540 deg.C for 4 to 48hr. The material after subjected to the above treatment is formed by a hot press and is thereafter subjected to hot extruding at the temp. of the above vacuum degassing treatment or below to obtain a cylinder material. By the above degassing treatment, the average grain size of Si can be regulated intereasedly to 2.5 to 3.5mu suitable for providing the material with excellent wear resistance and a uniform structure. Thus, the cylinder material is formed, its wear resistance can be remarkably be improved, and because its structure is uniform, the degree of its minute deformation in the use in accordance with a head cycle can remarkably be reduced.

The outer cylindrical member 14 is constituted by half dividing bodies 14a, 14b and suitable number of the liquid passing-through holes are arranged at each body 14a. 14b. High pressure liquid is invaded through these liquid passing-through holes, and the prescribed pressurizing force is worked to the outer circumferential face of the cylindrical body 4 to compress the law material 4 toward diameter detection at the prescribed compressing force. Then, the mutual approach of the covering bodies 8, 10 are prevented by the outer cylindrical member 14 and displacement of the. rubber cylindrical body 6 toward axial direction is prevented. By this method, the traverse crack in the powder compact is prevented, and treatment of the compact is facilitated.
