    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and economically provide a pollutant removal material capable of efficiently removing pollutant substances and at the same time efficiently removing nitrate ion produced on the surface of a photocatalyst at the time of removing NOx in the atmospheric air, and maintaining the photocatalytic function for a long duration. SOLUTION: This pollutant removal material 10 is produced by fixing a photocatalyst carrier 3 comprising a light-transmissive porous inorganic material 2 and a photocatalytic particle 1 stuck to the surface and/or inner wall face of fine pores of the material 2 with a transparent inorganic adhesive on the surface of a substrate 5 by a cement type hardened material while being partly exposed. In addition to that the material 10 have a high quantity of the photocatalyst deposited on the carrier and a high contact surface area with a pollutant, light can reach to the insides of the fine pores, so that the material 10 can be highly active in photocatalytic performance. Further, owing to the mutual function of the alkali components of the cement and water adsorbed on the light-transmissive porous inorganic material 2, nitrate ion can be neutralized and the photocatalytic function can be maintained for a long duration.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide silver fine particles which have a small particle diameter and a shape of a high aspect ratio, can be fused and sintered at low temperatures and can form an electrically conductive thin film having excellent optical transparency and electrical conductivity, and to provide a method of relatively easily producing the silver fine particles.
      SOLUTION: Each of the silver fine particles is almost a planar particle having two principal planes, and has a thickness of ≤50 nm and a major axis of ≤5,000 nm. In the method of producing the silver fine particles, a solution obtained by dissolving at least a polymer compound, a reducing agent and a silver salt is stirred at 25 to 60°C.
