    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a continuous casting method of a thin cast slab with an unsolidified rolling reduction method, in which the rolling reduction causing the trouble on the operation is avoided and the length in the unsteady part is shortened as little as possible. SOLUTION: The unsolidified rolling reduction continuous casting method for producing the thin cast slab, is executed by drawing out the cast slab 2 which is formed in a mold 1 in a vertical and bending type continuous caster and of which the inside is in the unsolidified state, and applying the rolling reduction while supporting with guide rolls. The cast slab 2 is vertically supported just below the mold 1 with two to five sets of support rolls 4 so as to become parallel with the inner surface of the mold 1 without applying the rolling reduction and the unsolidified rolling reduction is applied with rolls 4 following the support rolls. In the way, the cast slab can smoothly be drawn out and the strain caused by the bending of the cast slab can be made small. Therefore, it can be eliminated that in such a case of applying the rolling reduction just below the mold, the contact between the cast slab and the mold is worsened and the operational troubles such as longitudinal crack, breakout, are caused.

    • PURPOSE:To uniformly execute cooling to a cast slab even in the case casting velocity varies by changing taper rate in one pair of the faced mold copper plates held between one pair of the faced set other mold copper plates at multiple steps in casting direction according to the casting velocity during casting. CONSTITUTION:The mold is assembled by holding one pair of the faced set short side copper plates 2 between one pair of the faced set long side copper plates 1, and at rear of short side frame 4 in the short side copper plate 2, U shaped notched groove 15 is arranged at center part in the casting direction, and at upper and lower parts of this groove 15, a screw type guide shaft 10 is arranged. In this constitution, the taper of short side copper plate 2 is made to the prescribed value and casting is started, and when the casting velocity comes to slow, the guide shaft 10 is worked with a driving device 16 through universal joint 17 and the copper plate 2 is bent with the groove 15 as supporting point and the inclination at the upper side part is made to large and inclination at the lower side is made to small. Further, when the casting velocity comes to fast, the bending degree is made to a little and the whole inclination is made to small to execute the casting, and control of the driving device 16 is executed with a controller 19 according to signal of thermocouple 18 imbedded at lower side part of the copper plate 2.

    • PURPOSE:To uniformly bring a dam block into contact with a short side of casting sheet and to surely cool the casting sheet by fixing the dam block to a side guide in the non-solidifying zone of molten metal in a caster and supporting elastically the dam block to the side guide through a guide plate in the solidifying zone. CONSTITUTION:The molten metal is poured into a space composing of the upper and lower belts 1, 2 and the right and left side dam blocks 6, from a trough 22. Then, in the non-solidifying zone in the molten metal, the dam block 6 is pushed to the side guide 5 side and abutted on a roller 12 of roller chain 9 supported as fixing to the side guide 5 and as it is shifted without reduction, soft solidified shell is not broken down. In the solidifying zone in the molten metal, the dam block 6 is supported elastically to the side guide 5 by a compressive spring 17 through the side plate 7, and pushed to inside of the casting sheet width direction in accordance with the shrinkage of the casting sheet width direction, and also guided as sliding to the side plate 7 to reduce, and so no gap between the dam block 6 and the casting sheet is developed. Further, as the max. reduction rate is adjusted by an adjusting bolt 14 and a worm jack 19, the casting sheet having constant width is produced. In drawing.
