    • PURPOSE:To stably and continuously make iron by continuously tapping the produced slag in a furnace during operation without tilting the furnace at the time of producing molten iron from scrap and iron ore with a cylindrical furnace. CONSTITUTION:A slag tapping hole 7 is provided by protruding it into the furnace from furnace bottom in the cylindrical furnace 1. Then, the accumulated iron level in the furnace bottom of the molten iron 11 produced from the scrap and the iron ore 10 is detected and at the time of detecting that the accumulated iron level reaches the upper end surface level of the slag tapping hole 7, the slag tapping hole 7 is opened. At this time, since the slag 12 is separated with sp. gr. difference and is present on the upper part of the accumulated iron level, even if the furnace is not tilted, the slag can be continuously tapped. After completing the tapping of slag, an iron tapping hole 6 is opened and the molten iron is tapped. The stable continuous iron-making in the cylindrical furnace 1 can be executed, and the improvement of the productivity, the reduction in fuel and oxygen consumptions and prolonging of the service life of furnace wall can be attained. Further, as the slag in the furnace during continuous operation can be maintained at the constant little quantity, the stable operation can be executed.

    • PURPOSE:To subject a carbon-containing waste material such as garbage, waste plastic or paper dust to incineration treatment without generating carbon dioxide by incinerating the carbon-containing waste material at specific temp. within a closed system. CONSTITUTION:For example, the combustion chamber 1 of a vertical dry distillation furnace consisting of a flue 2, a burner 3, a recuperator 4 and a flue 5 is used to subject a carbon-containing waste material such as garbage, waste plastic or paper dust to incinaration treatment in a closed system (dry distillation). The dry distillation temp at this time 19 pref. set to 750 deg.C or higher in such a case that the waste material contains hydrogen and to 1250 deg.C or higher in such a case that the waste material contains chlorine. As a result, even a chlorine-containing waste material can be incinerated without generating harmful gas such as dioxin or chlorine or carbon dioxide. Further, the obtained exhaust gas can be utilized as a hydrogen source and residual carbide is returned to soil or can be effectively utilized as a carbon source.

    • PURPOSE:To efficiently execute operation of a melting furnace by inserting plural pieces of image guides providing camera near tuyeres in a cylindrical melting furnace and grasping charging condition of materials from an original image obtd. through the camera. CONSTITUTION:Plural pieces of detecting parts 2 are inserted at upper and lower two steps near the tuyeres in the cylindrical melting furnace 1, and the detecting part 2 is constituted with the image guide 22 and the camera 23 providing protecting lance 21 connecting with this. The raw images in the furnace obtd. through the camera 23 are outputted to an operating processor 3 and monitor 7 in order at the prescribed timing with an image signal switching unit 6 and also if necessary, selectively controlled while switching. The operating processor 3 decides the kind of the charged material in the furnace by executing the image processing to the original image obtd. from each camera 23, and circumferential distribution and velocity at which passing the detecting part 2 for the charged material in the furnace are calculated and outputted to a furnace control device 4 and control of blowing rate of fuel gas, etc., from the tuyere and iron tapping quantity, etc., is executed. By this method, the condition in the furnace is accurately grasped and efficient operation is executed.
