摘要： PURPOSE:To easily mount the optical fiber and to make the coupling loss small by forming openings at specific parts on the internal surface of a storage part and also forming a through hole which penetrates a base body and linked with the outside of the base body. CONSTITUTION:The jacket of an optical fiber ribbon is removed and the optical fibers are inserted into the storage grooves 3a of the optical fiber holding part 3 of the optical connector from their rear surface opening parts. At the time of the insertion, a vacuum generation source is mounted in the through hole formed in the holder part 2 and vacuum suction is performed while the front surface opening parts of the storage grooves 3a of the optical fiber holding part 3 of the optical connector 1. By this vacuum suction, the pressure in the storage grooves 3a is reduced through the through hole 3d of the holder part 2 and a through hole 8 formed in a lower optical fiber holding part 3c. Consequently, the tips of the optical fibers to be inserted into the storage grooves 3c are sucked in the corresponding storage grooves 3c, so the insertion of the optical fibers into the storage grooves 3c is facilitated.

The V contact state of the guide pins 10 with the guide pin grooves 3 is easily decided in this way.

In such a way, with respect to not only a multicore optical fiber but also a single core optical fiber, cutting can be realized with high accuracy, and not only the optical fiber can be connected at a low loss, but also high reproducibility can be maintained at the time of measuring the optical fiber, as well, and the workability of high efficiency can be obtained.

摘要： PURPOSE:To connect stably optical fibers with high strength by dissolving away the covering layer at the terminal of each optical fiber, irradiating UV rays on the bare fiber and welding the clean fibers to each other under non-contact state with other objects. CONSTITUTION:The optical fiber 1 is dipped in a hot sulfuric acid to dissolve away the covering layer thereof. UV rays including 184.9nm and 253.7nm wavelengths are irradiated on the exposed fibers to generate efficiently ozone and excited oxygen atoms respectively, thereby dissolving away the covering residue sticking to the surface and cleaning the fibers. The clean fibers 2 are connected to each other under non-contact state with other objects, by which the fibers are stably connected with high strength.
