By this two stage cooling, an external appearance abnormality, produced when the quick cooling is carried out by using the water directly, is prevented, said abnormality is such as the wrinkled surface produced by the positional variation of the surface contraction, occurring when the cooling is effected, due to the positional variation of overflowing water from the cooling water tank 4, or the crater-like unevenness of the surface produced by fast shrinking of the polyethylene at the surface portion of the cable where a splashed water drop, produced by overflown water at the water reservoir, adheres.

    • PURPOSE:To not to waste electric or heating energy needed for moisture-proofing, by performing each automatical operation control of a refrigerator and a moisture-proof apparatus according to relative humidity between open air dew point temperature and desired low humidity atmosphere. CONSTITUTION:The dew point temperature range of open air 6 is determined by a detection signal from a dew point thermometer 25 through an operation controller 30, four refrigerator units 1-4 are ON/OFF-controlled according to the range, and the moisture-proof capacity of the whole refrigerator units is heightened when open air dew point temperature is high and is lowered when the temperature is low. In the meantime, the calculated relative humidity between a storage shed 10 and each paper-covering chamber 11-13 is required by the operation controller 30 through the detection signal from the thermometers 21-24 and the dew point temperature 26-29, and the highest relative humidity range among the four sections is determined. The opening of a damper 18 for adjusting the regenerating hot air quantity of the moisture-proof apparatus 7 according to said range is controlled. Thus, the driving energy of the refrigerator and the regenerating energy of the moisture-proof apparatus are not wasted.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress performance drop even if a void is formed directly over a conductor or directly under a metal shielding layer by temperature change by connecting a pressurized oil supply tank to both terminals or a beach connection part of a cable so that the inside of the cable is always kept is positive pressure in a cable section of relatively shallow water depth region where negative pressure is produced on the inside when a load is shut off, and supplying oil by applying pressure. SOLUTION: In a cable section 3 in a region where a cable is laid in relatively shallow water depth, a lead cover is not completely crushed because of low water pressure, and increase in inside hydraulic pressure is small. In this state, if a load is once shut off, oil corresponding to volume contraction caused by cooling of oil cannot be supplied, negative pressure is generated, and break of the cable caused by void discharge may be caused. Pressurized oil supply tanks 5A, 5B are arranged in both terminals 4A, 4B or a beach connection part of the cable, and oil is pressurized to keep hydraulic pressure not generating negative pressure in any case in the cable section 3 in the shallow water depth region, and positive pressure is kept on the inside of a cable insulator and start of void discharge is suppressed.
