摘要： PURPOSE:To make paper in a neutral range and to obtain excellent sizing effect by using a solution of basic aluminum polysulfate containing a specific stabilizer as a fixing agent for a rosin-based emulsion sizing agent. CONSTITUTION:A solution of basic aluminum polysulfate of the formula [Al(OH)x(L)y(SO4)z]n (L is a monofunctional acid radical such as Cl or NO3; (n) is positive integer; x is 0.75-2.0; y is 0-1,45; z is 0.40-1.125; x+y+2z=3) containing a silicon compound, a phosphorus compound, boron or a baron compound as a stabilizer for a rosin-based emulsion sizing agent. The amount of sulfate radical is reduced and paper is made in a neutral range at pH 6.0 or higher.

CONSTITUTION:An aqueous pulp slurry is mixed with a paper quality-improving agent of a cationic group-containing polymer which is prepared by copolymerization of an acrylamide of formula I (R is H, methyl) such as acrylamide and a diallylamine of formula II (R , R are H, methyl; HX is acid) such as diallyldimethyl-ammonium chloride in a water-isopropyl alcohol mixed solvent at 55 deg.C for 6 hours in the presence of ammonium persulfate and then making into paper in the absence of a sizing agent to give the objective paper of increased burst index and improved paper quality.

Preferably the compound is used with (A) an ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer, (B) an ethylene-vinyl acetate-vinyl chloride copolymer, (C) an ethylene-vinyl chloride copolymer, (D) an ethylene-vinyl acetate-acrylate copolymer, (E) a styrene-butadiene copolymer and/or (F) (meth) acrylamide copolymer.

摘要： PURPOSE:To provide the aqueous dispersion good in the sizing properties, providing coating films excellent in water resistance and semi-conductivity, and useful for the production of paper, semi-conductive laminates, etc., by treating a specific ethylenic copolymer under specific conditions. CONSTITUTION:An ethylenic copolymer comprising (i) 40-80wt.% of ethylene and (ii) 60-20wt.% of one or more kind of aminoalkyl acrylamide comonomers of the formula (R1 is H, methyl; R2, R3 are H, 1-4C alkyl; n is 2-4) and having a melt index (based on JIS-K-6760) of 10-1000g/10min is reacted with hydrochloric acid, and the produced quaternary salt is subjected to the addition reaction of an epihalohydrin such as epichlorohydrin. The epihalohydrin reaction product is furthermore subjected to an addition reaction to an alkanolamine compound such as ethanolamine to obtain the aqueous dispersion.

摘要： PURPOSE:To provide the title aqueous dispersion which gives a semiconductive laminate excellent in antistatic properties and low in temperature-dependancy of the recording density, by effecting addition reaction of a quaternary salt of a specific ethylene copolymer and an epihalohydrin compound. CONSTITUTION:40-80wt.% ethylene and 60-20 aminoalkylacrylamide comonomer of the formula (wherein R1 is H or methyl; R2-3 are each H or 1-4C alkyl; and n is 2-4) are reacted under a pressure of 500-3,000kg/cm at 100-300 deg.C to produce an ethylene copolymer having an MI (JIS K-6760) of 10-1,000g/10min. Then, 100mol. parts amino group in the copolymer and 50-200mol. parts hydrochloric acid are reacted in water at 600-100 deg.C for 30-120min to obtain the quaternary hydrochloride of the copolymer. Thereafter, 100mol. parts amino group in the copolymer and 50-200mol. parts epihalohydrin compound (e.g., epichlorohydrin) are reacted at 20-100 deg.C for 30-300.

The resin is applied to paper or paper raw materials at an arbitrary stage of the paper-making process. Preferably, the resin is added by internal addition process comprising the addition to a pulp slurry before paper-making process.

摘要： PURPOSE:To obtain a paper having excellent dry strength and resistant to crack generation by preparing a pulp slurry containing waste paper pulp, adding a copolymer containing water-soluble lignin, (meth)acrylamide and diallylamine monomers and making a paper sheet from the slurry. CONSTITUTION:Waste paper pulp prepared from corrugated board is converted to a slurry having a concentration of 2%, sodium ligninsulfonate is added to the slurry in an amount of 1% based on the dry weight of pulp, aluminum sulfate is added thereto in an amount of 0.5% based on the dry weight of pulp and the obtained mixture is incorporated with a copolymer produced by the copolymerization of 99-50mol% of (meth)acrylamide and 1-30mol% of a diallylamine-type monomer of formula (R and R are H or methyl; HX is acid) and formed in the form of paper. Paper and paper board having excellent quality and high dry strength and resistant to cracking in hot-drying can be produced from a pulp slurry containing waste paper pulp by this process.
