SOLUTION: An input device 11 is connected to an input-switching device 1, and personal computer(PCs) 5, 9 are also connected to the device 1. Screen size, display resolution, cursor position information, etc., are supplied, from each of the PCs 5, 9, to a control part 20. The switching device 1 switches to and then supplies an output from the input device 11 to either one of the PCs 5, 9. When detecting the movement of a cursor to the right end in accordance with the operation of a mouse and the further movement of the cursor to the right side during the cursor is displayed on a monitor 7 connected to the PC 5 e.g. the route of a bus 21 is controlled by the control part 20 and the supply destination of a control signal inputted from the input device 11 is switched from a communication part 23, e.g. to a communication part 24. Thereby, a control target of the input device 11 is switched from the PC 5 to the PC 9. When data are transferred between the PCs 5, 9, by using the communication parts 23, 24, copying, transfer, etc., of files can be executed.

The decoding is performed before the selector 33, so even when the TV is selected by the selector 33, the data from the computer can be always received and decoded, so that the message display can be made. Font data sent from the computer while superposed on the video signal are stored in an EEPROM 89, etc., and then a display other than fonts that the OSD GEN22 previously has can also be made.
