    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical recording medium which suppresses a skew so as to enhance recording and/or reproduction characteristics, and enables a further higher recording density. SOLUTION: The optical recording medium includes a recording layer and a light-transmitting layer 4 successively formed on one side of a substrate, so that a light is applied from the side of this light-transmitting layer 4 for performing information recording and/or reproduction. On the opposite side of the substrate to the side having the light-transmitting layer 4, a water-proof film 5 consisting of at least one layer consisting of metal, an alloy, a dielectric film and an organic film is formed, and a corrosion preventing film 6 made of an acrylic urethane based UV curing resin is formed on the water-proof film 5. If the light-transmitting layer 4 has a thickness t=3 to 177 (μm) in an information signal section wherein at least an information signal is recorded in the recording medium, and a thickness fluctuation of the light-transmitting layer is Δt, Δt ≤±5.26 (λ/NA 4 ) (μm) (wherein NA is a numerical aperture and λ is a wavelength of the recording/reproduction optical system) is satisfied.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain high recording density by making a disk substrate thin and to make the disk substrate compatible with the substrate which is not made thin by sticking a couple of disk substrates together and making the couple of disk substrates thicker for a part where inner-peripheral side recording layers are not formed than a part where the recording layers are formed. SOLUTION: The optical disk 1 is constituted by sticking disk bodies 1a and 1b, having recording layers and protection layers formed on the main surfaces of their substrates via an adhesive layer 65 with the recording layers inside. Here, the disk bodies 1a and 1b in symmetrical structure are so constituted that a hold part 7 which has no inner-peripheral side recording layer formed and which is held on an optical recording. The reproducing device is made thicker than the thickness T2 of a recording part 8 which has a recording layer and severs as a signal recording are. Consequently, high recording density is obtained by reducing the thickness T2 of the recording part 8 and compatibility is obtained by equalizing the thickness T1 of the hold part 7 to the thickness of an existent optical disk.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent deformation in a substrate such as warpage and shrinkage, to ensure satisfactory rotating performance and to attain satisfactory adaptation to the increase of recording density by laminating two or more 1st and 2nd resin layers which transmit incident light and comprise different materials different from each other in physical and/or mechanical characteristics to form the substrate. SOLUTION: A signal recording layer 3, a light reflecting layer 4 and a protective coat 5 are successively laminated on a substrate 2 to obtain the objective optical disk. The substrate 2 has a sandwich structure obtained by forming 1st and 2nd skin layers 6a, 6b on both principal faces of a core layer 7. The skin layers 6 are formed with a material having a lower water absorption than the core layer 7 so as to inhibit the warpage of the optical disk. The core layer 7 is formed with a material having a higher glass transition temperature and a larger mechanical internal loss than the skin layers 6 so as to inhibit the warpage of the optical disk even at a high temperature and to prevent the resonance phenomenon of the optical disk in rotation.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce face wobbling and eccentricity, to improve a recording/ reproducing characteristic and to enable to have high density recording by preventing a projection of a height 0.1 mm or above from existing in a clamping area supported with a supporting body of an inner peripheral side of a substrate. SOLUTION: An optical recording medium 1 is provided with a reflection film 3 and a light transmission layer 4 on the main surface side of the disk like substrate 2, and is provided with the clamping area 6 supported by the supporting body on the inner peripheral side of the substrate 2. The clamping area 6 is formed within the range of diameter 26-33 mm in the case of a reproduction exclusive optical disk of a diameter 120 mm extent. When the projection 8 exists in the innermost peripheral part of the clamping area 6, a tilt angle θbecomes maximum. When the height h of the projection 8 is 0.1 mm or below, the tilt angle θ becomes 0.2 deg. or below, and it becomes within the allowable range even when the tilt angle due to a tilt of a player shaft is added. Further, an internal diameter of a central hole in the light transmission layer 4 easy to cause the projection is made larger than the diameter of the central hole on the substrate 11. Further, the matter that the light transmission layer 4 isn't formed in the clamping area 6 is preferred.

SOLUTION: A diameter D1 of a substrate 1 is 120 mm, a thickness T1 is 1.2 mm and a diameter D2 of a hole section 2 is 15 mm. At the center section of a main surface 1a, a projecting section 3, in which a diameter D3 is 30 mm and a thickness T2 is 1.5 mm, is provided and a step section 4 having a height of 0.3 mm is formed. Then, ultraviolet curing resin is supplied as the liquid in a ring manner and is spread over the section 4. Then, the substrate 1 is rotated, the liquid is rotatively expanded, a coating is performed and the resin is hardened by ultraviolet rays. Thus, the dispersion in the film thickness in a peripheral direction at a prescribed radius and the dispersion of the film thickness in a radial direction are reduced compared with the case in which the coating liquid is supplied in a ring manner to the substrate 1 having no section 3.

In such a case, the generation of air bubbles 40 between the substrate 1 and the photosetting resin film 30 is effectively prevented and the peeling in the boundary part between the substrate 1 and the photosetting resin film 30 is effectively prevented. In addition, the generation of the air bubbles 40 between the substrate 1 and the photosetting resin film 30 is effectively prevented.
