SOLUTION: A laser beam emitted from a light source device 10A converges on the recording surface of optical disks D1 and D2 by an objective lens 20, and a return light beam from the optical disk is divided by a beam splitter 21, and then is guided to a light receiving element 23 through a condensing lens 22. The light source device 10A has the multipoint light-emitting semiconductor laser 11 which emits laser beams each having different wavelength from a first and a second light emitting points 11a and 11b, a collimator lens 12, and an optical path correcting element 13 which superposes optical paths between the laser beams of each wavelength emitted from the collimator lens 12 toward different directions, respectively. The optical path correcting element 13 is constituted by forming a diffraction surface 13b on the end surface of the incident side of a refraction prism 13a, and has prescribed distributed characteristics.

SOLUTION: The bonded surface is made convex to a light source side, the refractive index of the lens 2 on the light source side of the bonded surface to light having wavelength λ1 is made larger than that of the lens 1 on the optical recording medium side, and the refractive index of the lens 2 on the light source side of the bonded surface to light having wavelength λ2 is made smaller than that of the lens 1 on the optical recording medium side, thus the bonded surface has negative refractive power to the light having the wavelength λ1 and positive refractive power to the light of the wavelength λ2, respectively. Then, the bonded surface becomes the one having the design parameter of the lens that the change directions of the spherical aberration are opposite to each other between the use conditions of a thick disk and a thin disk.

SOLUTION: The high-density optical pickup device is composed, by including a light source unit which exits plural light beams so that plural light spots are formed on the same track of a recording medium at a prescribed interval; a photodetector which receives plural light beams reflected from the recording medium and independently performs a photoelectric conversion; and a reproduced signal detecting circuit part which is provided so as to add up these signals to be outputted, after delaying at least one signal of signals outputted from the photodetector and removing a time lag between output signals. The reproduced signal having a larger ratio of signal to noise compared to a conventional one is detected, when noise components are removed and light of low power is used as reproduced light as well.

The beam splitter 101 is provided with a wavelength separating layer 101b consisting of a first and second interfaces 101d, 101e and of an optical thin plate 101c that is interposed between the interfaces and that has a prescribed refractive index n2. The first and second interfaces 101d, 101e are formed with a first and second wavelength selecting films 101d', 101e' which reflect or transmit each laser beam 103a', 103b' at each prescribed rate. After reflected by the first and second interfaces 101d, 101e, the laser beams 103a', 103b' are made to coincide in the optical axes and emitted from the beam splitter 101, a return light from an optical disk is passed through the wavelength separating film 101b and guided to the light receiving member 105.
