摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable exposure pattern recording which obtains a reproduced signal having good signal characteristics from a medium by using laser beams having intensity distribution in which intensity becomes stronger as approaching the center when a surface to be exposed is irradiated with the laser beams subjected to intensity modulation and light deflection. SOLUTION: A high γ photoresist film 24 is applied on a glass original disk 13, a Gaussian distribution type laser beams L1X are emitted from a laser source 21. At the time of a wide group recording, the wide group recording of a steep slope edge is formed on the high γ photoresist film 24 for the upper surface of the glass original disk 13, cross talk between wide groups at the time of reproduction can be evaded. At the time of forming narrow pit record, a high frequency recording signal S2 in 3T, 11T bits is converted to a pulse train converting signal S11 and made pulse trains of 3 and 11 pieces. Thus, exposure is performed repeatedly, increment of exposure quantity in pit length is evaded, pit widths of 3T and 11T are made equal to each other even if the high γ photoresist film 24 is used.

Among the plural first lenses 23, the first lens 23 corresponding to the diameter of the desired laser beam is selectively moved on the optical path of the laser beam, by which the latent image consisting of the desired diameter is easily formed on the surface 12A to be exposed of the member 12 to be exposed.

Data is recorded in the inside of the groove 32. Accordingly, since the groove 32 is wide, even when data is recorded in the inside of the groove 32, the deterioration of S/N can be prevented, and also differently to the case in which data is recorded in a land, the wobble of a reproduced signal can be prevented.

摘要： PURPOSE:To reproduce a multivalued signal out of a data recording area by detecting the group displacement value and the group length based on the transition level and the transition timing. CONSTITUTION:A synchronizing signal and an amplitude reference signal consisting of the maximum and minimum values of multivalued signal are applied to a data recording area. Then a synchronizing signal is obtained by means of the light quantity of a reflected light beam L2 received from an optical disk 2. The beam L2 is received by a 2-split optical detector 10, and the amplitude reference signal is reproduced with use of a difference signal SPP between output signals SPD1 and SPD2. Then a transition level is set with use of the maximum and minimum values of the multivalued signal. Furthermore the signal SPP is differentiated in two steps for detection of the transition timing. The group displacement value and the group length of the disk 2 are detected based on the transition level and the transition timing. Thus the multivalued signal is surely reproduced out of a data recording area.
