摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a light-erasable writing utensil which gives written lines and images erasable by visible or near-infrared rays by compounding a light- erasable recording material comprising a specific boron compd. and a sensitizing dye having absorption in the visible and near-infrared regions as the colorant into the same. SOLUTION: A boron compd. represented by formula I (wherein R1 to R4 are each an alkyl, an aryl, an aralkyl, etc.; and R5 to R8 are each an alkyl, an aryl, an alkaryl, etc.) (e.g. teramethylammonium n-butyltriphenylboron) is used pref. in a molar ration to the sensitizing dye of 3-5. A merocyanine dye, a coumarin dye, a xanthene dye, etc., are used as the sensitizing dye, in an amt. of 0.5-15.0wt.% of the total amt. of the solid writing utensil compsn. An acrylic resin, etc., is used as the binder, and stearamide, etc., as the lubricant.

摘要： PURPOSE:To effectively control the sustained release of the subject formulation by adjusting with an alkali metal or alkaline earth metal basic compound the pH of a dispersion solution prepared by dispersing sustained release micro- capsules comprising diethyltoluamide as a core substance and an urea resin as a wall material in water. CONSTITUTION:N,N-Diethyl-m-toluamide is employed as a core substance and an urea resin, etc., also as a wall material to prepare sustained release micro- capsules. When the micro-capsules are dispersed in water, the adjustment of the pH of the dispersion solution with an alkali metal or alkaline earth metal basic compound permits to readily control the sustained release property of micro-capsules. A material selected from an urea resin, guanamine resin, melamine resin and these composite materials is used as the wall material of the micro-capsules. The method does not require any complicated operation on the preparation of the microcapsules, thereby being economical. The method permits also the exhibition of the maximum chemical effect.

摘要： NEW MATERIAL:3,4-Dihydroxyphenylparatolylsulfone. USE:A developer for thermal recording and pressure-sensitive recording. PREPARATION:Catechol expressed by formula II is oxidized with an oxidant and successively reacted with paratoluenesulfinic acid to provide a compound expressed by formula I. The oxidation reaction is carried out, using a water/ organic solvent mixed system (methanol, ethanol, THF, etc. as an organic solvent) as a solvent and potassium bichromate, lead oxide, potassium iodate, etc., as an oxidant. The resultant oxide is used in above-mentioned addition reaction without isolating. In said reaction, reaction temperature is preferably 0-30 deg.C, especially 0-10 deg.C.

摘要： PURPOSE:To eliminate background fog and to enhance the fastness of a developed color image, by forming a thermal recording material by providing a thermal color forming layer containing a leuco dye and a phthalic amide compound represented by a specific general formula on a support. CONSTITUTION:A leuco dye and a color developer represented by formula (wherein R1 is a hydrogen atom or a 1-6C alkyl group and R2 is a 1-12C alkyl group, a phenyl group, 1-2 alkyl substituted phenyl group, a 1-2C alkoxy substituted phenyl group, a hydroxy substituted phenyl group, a cyclohexyl group or a pyridyl group) are added to an aqueous medium along with a polyvinyl alcohol aqueous solution and all of the components are ground and mixed by a ball mill to prepare a thermal color forming layer coating solution. This coating solution is applied to a support and dried to obtain a thermal recording material.

摘要： PURPOSE:To improve color forming sensitivity and storability, by incorporating a specified fluoran compound as a color former, an alkyl gallate or p-substd. phenol as a color developer and a carbonic acid diester as a heat-fusible substance, in combination, into a thermal color forming layer. CONSTITUTION:A fluoran derivative of formula I as a color former, a phenolic compound of formula II or III as a color developer and a carbonic acid diester of formula IV as a sensitizer, are incorporated in a thermal color forming layer. The phenolic compound is preferably used in an amount of 2-3pts.wt. per 1pt.wt. of the fluoran derivative. The carbonic acid diester as a heat-fusible substance (sensitizer) is preferably used in an amount of 3-5pts.wt. per 1pt.wt. of the fluoran derivative. To obtain a thermal recording material by using these constituents of the thermal color forming layer, the constituents are ground and dispersed by the usual method to prepare dispersed liquids, which are mixed with each other to prepare a coating liquid for forming the thermal color forming layer, and the coating liquid is applied to a base such as a paper, followed by drying.
